The Rules of Star Conflict

Sort of inspired by similar things I’ve seen / done with other games, I thought I’d share what I think the “rules” are for this game. They’re pretty universal in fairness, but fun and informative nonetheless… well, I think they are. :yes_yes:

Rule Zero - The Most Important Rule:

This is a game, and we play to have fun. If someone is not having fun, something has gone very, very wrong. I shall never knowingly seek to stop other people having fun playing this game, nor shall I continue to play if I myself am not enjoying it.

The Rest:

  1. Playing as part of a group against randoms and winning is nothing to crow about - playing as randoms and beating a group, on the other hand, is.
  2. Playing a build that is known to be cheap, overpowered or otherwise “easy” does not make me a skilled player; skill comes from taking what people know to be not worth bringing, and making it work.
  3. I shall not blame my team for our defeats - if anyone is to be blamed, I shall blame myself.
  4. I shall remember that the game is not about me; everyone deserves a moment in the spotlight.
  5. I shall not berate, insult or condemn members of my team.
  6. I shall praise my team when they succeed, and encourage them as much as I can.
  7. If people want to chat, I shall chat and be sociable if I can - not that I’ll throw the game for the sake of a conversation or anything.
  8. If someone asks for my help, or just for help in general, I shall help them if I can.
  9. I shall not pick on or single out a player to attack over any other - nobody likes being farmed.
  10. Kill Count is meaningless, as is total score; what matters is the accomplishments of the team overall, and whether or not I helped them achieve success.

I can’t totally agree with the number 9. Sometimes someone kicks my xxxx and I want my revenge, and that’s funny, and I try to beat him as much as possible. When I’m sniped to death by any player I can’t avoid taking my gunship and do everything to kill that player and get my revenge. I don’t see anything bad with that. Same when I see some really skilled player who is making me sweat, I just want to take him, kill him, it’s a great challeng to try to defeat a skilled player.

I shall not crash at the beginning of the battle

Thou realllllly dont want to take Censored’s Warp Gates. My name is actually censored due to the numerous black marks on rocks left by people who take mine.

Heres a few.

  1. I will not hunt down GM’s and Moderators because they muted me, If it happened, it was likely deserved. Reflect on the situation.

  2. Killing GM’s and Moderators does NOT give medals.

All in good fun

Thou should not take Mustacho’s Warp gates.
