The pulse discharger isn’t as effective as it should be, here’s why:
a purple T5 heavy blaster without a pulse discharger does 1091 dmg.
If I add a purple pulse discharger which is supposed to give me 11% dmg boost, then I should get 120 dmg. points. After I added the pulse discharger my dmg only goes up to 1180 which is only 89 points more which is around 8.1%.

Please fix that.
Hello,
the % increase always counts on the base value, not the already increased damage by other buffs.
I know all that. I put 1 in a ship without anything else, as I stated in my post, so the pulse discharger needs fixing.
You didn’t get what Error said.
The bonus from implants and modules are calculated on “raw” value taken from module. To see that value check it from the warehouse. A purple r15 heavy blaster have 700 Dps with a base damage of 202.
The moment you put it on a ship: crew bonuses were added, plus ship bonus, shells and modules. (also number of turrets have influence on that, the same weapon on a guard or an engi does less damage than if you put it on a Lrf. 'Cause Lrf have 6 turrets, instead other frigs only 4.
What you said Spongejohn, makes sense, but this means that the dmg isn’t calculated the way we expect it to be calculated. In other words the pulse discharger doesn’t work the way we expect it to work.
Here’s my video of the issue and how I expect the pulse discharger to work:

You havent understood what Error and Spongejohn sayed yet. Before seing how % affect in specific number amounts, hold control over the weapon/mod you want to see, if theres any green number displayed, it is because its indicating a bonus over the base, if you remove that amount (green - total) you will get the base stat and from there you can actually see the real % you are looking for to become true. You can also go to warehouse like sponge sayed, multiply the number by 4 (because frigates have 4 guns…if you take LRF multiply by 6), then make the math with the %.
Now, to explain why you are failing: you have curved reflector equiped (increases 25% dmg). If we consider that curved reflector is the only damage booster active (which is a lie because you also have E6 implant: alpha-inhibitor “gladius” that increases dmg by 7%), 1091 would be the 125% of the base dmg, therefore 872,8 would be the 100% (base dmg). Now, if you add 11% to the base (96), the result is 968,8. If you calculate incorrectly and consider the 125% as 100%, then the 11% boost (120) would give a total of 1211, which is actually the 138,75% of the base damage…this last thing is wrong, and its what you are doing. Im sorry, but you havent understood what base dmg means.
What you failed to understand is that, I’ve already uploaded the video before I read Spongejohn’s reply.
I posted the vid for 2 reasons:
1. I didn’t want to believe what I’ve read.
2. I still wanted the 11% boost on top of every other bonus :006j:
This isn’t my failure anyway, the description isn’t clear, and I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one who didn’t know this.
Well, your response with the video in the forum happened after Spongejon’s reply, so i figured out you read that first and then decided to show the video anyway (still thinking in the same way as before), which means that the fact you uploaded the video before or after sponge’s response doesnt mean much. I dont want to be offensive, but i feel ofended by the sentence “What you failed to understand is that…”, as a throw back punch. I did not failed to understand.
About the last lines, it always happens to anyone trying to figure out the game mechanics (it happened to me once)…its frustrating when you feel you are being decieved. But im really glad you got into this, because it means you are willing to know how things work (i really valorate that)…many other players are simply lazy and dont even bother to figure things out, reason why you see engineers cast mass shield generator with half capacitor and instantly after cast nanodrone cloud…there are many other examples.
I felt identified with point 2: try using curved reflector and then add the same range you lost by the ammo on horizons/implants. See what happens
