Much to our surprise we got a new tournament mode Domination, Now I liked the change but I did not care for the map. It is very ping dependent, the sheer amount of structure made the game difficult to play with even moderate ping 120 plus. as we are an English speaking corp we have members globally,
as a result some one has bad ping regardless of what ever server we get. A more open map would have aloud us to use faster ships even with moderate ping with out bouncing off of the structures. As it turned out to mitigate the ping issues we had to use big ships now this turned out fine for us, but a more ”open” map would have been more fun.
The ninja change caught everyone off guard, I’m sure if I scoured the forums long enough I could have found a reference to it but maybe an in-game notice would have been helpful, you know like the pages of announcements you go threw when you log on. After the first round judging by the chat I was not the only one who was surprised.
As for the future of the tournament I would like to see it 4 ships no changes 3 completely different games 1st round Domination on a better map, 2nd round combat recon, the last round team battle or take out the combat recon use the team battle second and have a dreadnought battle last, but that takes away from the dread battles right after words.

Domination for a tournament was in kind of test mode, that’s why we didn’t announce it through all channels. But it was here.
