that horrible shield thing

i have a major problem with what ever this mod is called being able to slap a solid shield up in the middle of a battle field is rubbish, this is abit over powering when considering beacon capture all they do is slap a few of those up between em and your screwed slapped with a nuke or some other massive weapon… what happened to the skill vs skill side of it… lower tiers have less of these mental mods and its fun because its your skill vs the other guys skills. 

 

i also went and spent 40 buks on this game before you updated it last and i consider it the biggest waste of 40 buks i have spent.

Fly in and drop a mine field.  You can fly through the shield, just not fire through.

Last thing i checked, there is a thing called flanking…

you must be child playing. You can easily just flank it or move up or down to get around the shield. they dont stop minefields or ships really.

As a side note, the shield prevents shots from passing in either direction. The Engineer who hides behind it cannot shoot through it any more than you can. In effect, that Static Barrier can end up helping the opposing team.

i agree… some mods can be mental… not saying shields, haven’t seen them yet, but nukes? LRFs? the fun of space flight sims is mainly dogfighting… take that away fro the user with nukes, LRFs, cheap cloak+backstab and it gets pretty lame and boring fast. nobody even wants to touch a game like that. that’s why i’m staying in the lower tiers.

Guess what, T1 has those abilities!  Except nukes, then you just have to know when to use them.  They aren’t used randomly except by accident.  “When did I press X?  I better run!”

yea i know. and for the record, i’m not saying that more powerful or different weapons aren’t required for higher tiers.

 

maybe they just shouldn’t be so powerful lol. i don’t even know tho, just going by what people are saying on forums it seems they hate nukes :slight_smile:

 

personally i think the empire LRF in T1/T2 are OP. they decimate entire armadas… and intys/covops are also OP in lower tiers.
