Why do we have to tick the speed of light in damn km/h, no one uses that unit for anything.

Because it would be pointless to say “Speed of light = 1c”

I think he meant that it should be in km/s rather than km/h.

I do ![:)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001j.png “:)”) my country uses that measure for everything regarding speed. My mind works with kilometers per hour, not per sec or miles.

m/s and not km/s but yeah

You may use it for daily stuff but not for any damn kind of physical calculations (and I’m preparing atm for my final exams so yeah…)

I do, we have the same measure sistem for everything, thats how things work in Chile, clearly not in your country. It would be totally nonsense to use 2 different measure sistems, totally unpractical (as deadpool would say). Btw, what makes you think i use it for daily stuff but not for physical calculations?

you have to convert it at a certain point the h into s so you don’t have completely crappy units in the end.

In Germany you use km/h for everything in you daily life, but no in any calculation where you benefit from using the SI units.

well…i only made physics calculations at school, so im not an expert and i dont really care xD

That can be true and I’m still going to school (3 more days some lessons and then some final exams to be finally free)

weird, we use m/s in calculations, km/h regarding speed and ordinary life and km/s regarding the speed of light only.

IMO it is easier to reneged 299792458m/s then 299792.485 km/s and on meter is defined after the speed of light and not a kilometer, but yeah…

also it doesn’t matter what units you use as long as you stick to them throughout calc  ![:D](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/006j.png “:D”)

Yeah but at one point you often have to convert them so you don’t end up with e.g. m/s*h

My answers to the  test were over the limit and got  deleted.

I tried to convert the speed of light into km/s but it’s above 200. So I can’t and I’m stuck now.

round to 300?
