Hi there folks, i’m quite new to the game and i would like to ask 1 question, is there any module that prevents you from target locking other ships, enemy ships, or any specific range aquiring features ? Like max distance or something?
I was trying out a fighter ( i play at tier I btw ) and in a couple of games it turned out that a couple of targets couldn’t be aquired, however after i started firing at them i became the target lock reticule and the target leading reticule.
Is this a feature, a mod or was i suffering from lag?

There’s some kind of bug. I can lock someone as far as 20+ km most of the time, but sometimes I can’t lock anyone even within 5km. There’s a module that disable you from locking but it will show you a big warning message in the middle that your lock mechanism is failed.

Every ship has a sensor range within which you can lock targets. But you can lock an enemy ship either if it’s in your sensor range, or any other allied ship’s sensor range. That explains why you can often lock a ship 10 km away from you.

There is also a active module that will prevent you from locking on targets. but it will be clearly displayed on your reticule when that happens.
i have noticed this as well sometimes trying to lock captain even though im only 2k away it still cant be done.

Just noticed this 2 weeks ago that their captain got a spy drone on him, beside that, I didn’t encounter any locking issues since then. The only hard thing to do now is to lock a specific ship when they’re tied up in a small area of space from a distance so I can send the targeting message to allies.
