Morning, everyone.
Just a few hours ago, someone called ChaosAmbassador totally wrecked my Sword in a single warp-jump (I don’t have a Tai-Kin yet, but I believe it’s caused by the Jump Drive module). And for the specifics. In a single warp-jump. And my ship has just over 4 893 pts of hull durability plus 11 337 pts of Shield, which totals to 16 237 hitpoints in total (resistances are irrelevant; they’re all over 16%, both Shield and Hull). As you can see from the attached screenshot, his ship dealt a total of 19 116 pts of damage to me INSTANTLY. Anyone wants to protest against this? Cuz’ if this isn’t resolved soon, I can say this ship is messing everything up in PvP! No more “fair play” nonsense, just plain P2W.
It’s basically ramming a ship at very high speed, easily done on slow/stationary targets, understandable if on a frigate, but a fighter? Unless you were really slown down by both a drone and an inhibitor, but at close ranges you won’t deal that much damage with the warp, it would have to be at over 3km from you, either way, you should always keep moving and if possible, focus down on the thing that is slowing you, p2w has nothing to do with this.

Nah Chaos has been doing this for a while now - I’ve seen him nail a lot of Jericho fighters with this stupidity from high range.
Right I should also add the jump drive nonsense is literally just ramming damage - so the damage dealt is exclusively based on your hull capacity with the upper range of this nonsense being something like 8k or something hull damage to avoid being 1 shot. But yeah, just another Tai’kin interaction you need absurdly low ping to pull off.
Since you can bypass shields at close proximity, he just rammed you for a kill, so you took 5808 hull damage before insta-death.

Spoiler
Basically any recon can do this. Damage from Jump Drive was reduced to be on par with other recons (I think it’s capped at 50k base now). Resists won’t help you here - implant 9-3 and collision compensator will. Also - to not allow recon to get under your shields - get some strafe and mobility implant ( so 5-2, 8-2) cause you were pretty heavy debuffed and those two seconds of free mobility would help here.
“Warp-gun” (as it’s called) tactics has a long time counter. Honestly I am surprised that someone found it a viable again.

Chaos flies almost exclusively in squads with heavy debuffs. Honestly - how else would you warp-hit a fighter from “high range”?
Not to mention that any proper tackler can prevent this…
Looks like devs have some work to do, then. I can bet 50 dollars he’s in Russia, so he plays on Russian servers. And that’s bad news for me, while that’s good news for his KDR. Cuz’ my ping in Russia never goes below 290ms (usually it’s 350ms or greater ), and even Europe gives me a decent 180ms to work with (USA’s lagging slightly behind at 250ms), and I’m in Southeast Asia (19ms on South Asia servers). So long story short? I’m screwed. Yay.
Taikin is the only ship which can really do this, since it doenst fly at warp speed, but teleports with no preperation time. Either the Taikin should oneshot itself aswell, if it hits another ship or it needs a slight preperation time like the regular microwarp.
Maybe colission mechanics could do with a little revamp, since it still seems to be a viable tactic to warp a wazgot in the middle of a map like monolith and then just instakill guard frigates with gravi wave.

It is a suicide attack unless it’s equipped with something that mitigates collision damage.

Eh, I’ve run into him a load recently with Tai’kin in loadout which all things considered, a sword paying little attention to you is a very easy target to lead which based off that damage feed on the recap Chaos nabbed OP when he was under debuff from a satellite and not even aware of his presence.
That’d be beyond an easy target to lead.

The taikin can equip the emergency stasis thing, which makes it immune to collision damage. Maybe equipping it could also prevent it from dealing collision damage.
The cost of being stunned for 2-4 seconds might be that, usually happens if you misfire the warp into a wall, if you fail to kill the target you collide with it could also have bad results.
What about a small spool up time then? Could make that gnat a bit less irritating aswell ![:)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001j.png “:)”)
