So i think i wanna try a different frigate, ive been using a Fed Raptor mk2 for a while now, and i thought they were pretty good, but apparently jericho or empire are better, sooo…
But - how does the empires special work? Do you have to lead the target? How often does it hit? Do you need mad sniping skills?
And is there any bonus going jericho, or empire? Like higher hull etc.
Fed has by far the best Special when it comes to contributing to actually winning the game, if you are using the Jericho/Empire Specials then you are pretty much contributing nothing to winning the game where as Fed Special works at all times no matter what you do.
Fly those Fed ships properly and you will be amazed at how good they really are.
I do like them, they make excellent guard dogs and they can, i really needed, help push an area as well. But they don’t seem beefy enough, tbh, and i keep hearing about ‘‘harpy this’’ and ‘‘harpy that’’.
I do agree, unless you CAN USE THEM, empire and jericho frigates arent too useful, they just sit at spawn. But i keep thinking i want something beefier, that can still do the support role frigates are meant to do, and Fed frig’s manage really well.
Agreed w/ Stigez. The Empire/Jericho specials encourage players to camp in the spawn area. This leads to losses. Fed drones force the player to actually participate in the thick of things. This brings them forward for base capture and defense.
Jerico has way better shield tank then Fed Frig and the Empire Frigs got the crazy beefy hull. The Fed Frig should have way better resistance in both shield and hull but sadly it does not. Plus its drones are very squishy, but despite all that they are still good ships. I use my Alligator M with Hail plasma cannons, thats the sniper ones, and shoot from a relative safe distance (Still in the heat of the battle and contributing far more then the other races frigs) and use my drones and smart bomb or what ever its called, to take down fighters and intercepters. I also have the Propultion inhibiter mod where it shuts down enemy ships afterburners and maneuvering thrusters in a 1.2K radius for exstra trolling power, “I’m sorry mr. fighter and or intercepter, is there a problem? ‘Incert troll face here->’…”. On top of that, when in a desperit situation against fast movers, guarding becons, or just to be a jerk, I deploy a mine field.
Jerico and Empire Frigs get really boring really fast.
@ArqueiroX:
Nice job, very well done. Earlier today I managed to pull a 19kill, 17assist, which is my personel best ever. I was very pleased with my self. The next game was the EMP bomb game mode and every frig on our team was either a Jerico or Empire Frig and they were no help at all and all our Fighters and Intercepters did was try and get kills. Only my self and one other guy in an Intercepter acctually make attempts to takeing the EMP bomb to the enemy becons. But half that time was mostly us trying to get the bomb the hell away from our becon sense our first two were destroyed in the first 30 sec of the match. Useless team is useless.
Fed frigate rulez…but interceptor is best  (for me)
+1. Ever since I tried out interceptors, I never used a single frigate again, except for those stupid nano repair hull/shield contract (I use a frigate constantly bumping a solid rock to cause damage to myself in captain mode :Dwop )
The thing for frigate is their maneuver is horrible. Many times I just keep a safe distance from their mines and shoot on their butt, and they can never turn their front/side to me :dntknw:

this is because the ceptors fit your play style. frigates are not bad, they are support ships, for suport like players.
I personally enjoy playing support/guardsman - im not here for glamour, im here to play a great game, and i that needs me to wait 3/4 of it in the tab screen, on comms with my corp, so be it - but when needed, i can help push. Thats the role i enjoy playing, sure fighters are fun, and really useful - i often switch to a fighter if a push is called, or if the enemy captain dies, but still - i play support and guarding sort of well, and i believe i play it as required - cap, not kill.
And Milfeulle - fed frigates can move, compared to others, but imo you shouldn’t be moving much anyway - you’re basically a wall with guns and thrusters, stay at a spot and hold it, or at least thats how i play, lol.
Oops let me rephrase that after re-reading - you should stay on one spot and keep your right-side to the bad guys and thats when the drones come into play, 360 degrees of fire of some sort, even if its weak.
After some testing, i can report i am i love with the Raptor-M. It feels beefier, can push more, but is defense orientated with the missile defense drones. This ship got me to tier 2, but i can’t afford a 'Gator yet - will get one soon though!
My frigate i equiped qith hull knect tank, plasma gun to short range atacks, regen set and warp gate(to get in/out combat zones).
I can melt any other ship easely, using sneak atack tatcs.

Hehe I remember that one, and that is a testament to empire frigs too. My hull tanked acid hydra in middle of map is just plain fun. I can peek and snipe far away bomb carriers, defend against aggressors and just become impervious. Btw my frig has ams and prop inhibitor, so with a good spot near where bomb spawns you can hold the map.
Or was that map where I camped bomb spawn with Templar, can’t remember.
Best way to use frigs is in packs of 2-3 with different modules for different purposes, and move as a team. At that point it doesn’t really matter which faction you choose, but I will definitely say all 3 can be great brawlers.
