I was doing the daily quest for monocrystal in Federation, which in this case was to investigate Cobalt Mines, and the gate redirected me to Unknown Space as the quest does.
However, once I was there, I could not leave - there was no option to interact with the portal once I reached it, so I could not leave and complete my quest.
I tried respawning (easy to let biomorphs kill me) and use duplicator but that did not work, I then died again, went back to station, returned to Unknown Space and encountered the same bug. I could not leave Unknown Space.
I saw a couple of other players who were stuck there with me and also could not leave. I had to cancel the monocrystal quest, luckily there was another one I could take.
This has never happened to me before, I have gone through Unknown Space dozens of times with no issue.
Could it be something to do with the mission itsself? Do you know if the other people there also had the mission or if they were sent there “randomly” by passing through gates?
I didn’t think to ask the other pilots how they got there, sorry. I was a little rushed for time so I just canceled the quest.
There were no error messages, the game was entirely normal except for the inability to leave. I could interact with other objects just fine (fuel cells that had been dropped) and the Biomorphs definitely knew I was there when I wasn’t cloaked.
I was flying the Rockwell, I went straight from New Eden to Ice Pits, then to Cobalt Mines where it intercepted me into Unknown Space.
I had ODG Chameleon active while I jumped through the gate to Unknown Space, if that’s relevant. Though there was an Osprey who seemed like they were trapped there as well.
I just had the same issue,seem you get up to the Portal to return to normal space,but it gives you know option to jump back to normal space.I was coming out of fed space,might that helps?
p.s. Also noted that i had the “Reconnaissance” mission in the Poseidon Complex…
This thing just happened to me… to fix it, when you’re on unknown space, just use the ‘safe log out’ option, then log in again… ang gotcha

i have tried with 2 ships, first my ECM stilletto AE (rank 7), then my LRF Centaur (rank 11).

Well, i was still into unknown space… but i was able to use the portal to go back to felony.
We need to check something… when Aliens come to Felony border, are we allowed to jump from unknown space to felony?
This bug doesn’t seems to happen to every player who jump into unknown space… so my idea is that something happen in the targeted map (for empire, felony) that unable the jump back. And the only event who come into my mind is when aliens come.
It’s perhaps stupid or already tested, i know…
Skula, can you, on your test server, try the mission when Aliens are in Felony border?
I encountered the same bug twice. Last time I went from Smuggler’s Hideout to Sorting Facility.
In unknown sector I flew to the portal but no “C” was offered to leave the sector.
This seems to happen randomly - the next time it worked without any issues.
This error really sucks (having 1 kk loot plus 2 blueprints on board… and lost).
Well this happened to me, just about 10 minutes ago. I was sent into unknown space while searching for SSMC containers. It was while I tried to jump out of Fort Muerto into Smugglers Hideout. When I arrived, I retrieved an SSMC container and found that another pilot was farming the sector. He and I ended up meeting at the Fort Muerto Portal and was not able to Interact with the gate. I asked the other pilot if he was able to interact with the portal, and he was not. Shortly after chatting about the issue, a squad of Hunters came in close and attacked his Naga. I immediately returned fire and the hunters pulsar weapon began to tear me apart. I got distance and cloaked, watched him die, took his stuff, then used a duplicator to return to dock.
I did attempt a safe log out and it did not work. Luckily I had the duplicator to use. I am not sure what steps need to be taken for this to occur. It felt very random and the bug basically locks you into the sector. Simply put, the interact option for the portal is not accessible. I have a theory though, I am wondering if a pilot is in the unknown space sector to long that it can cause this issue? Anyone else who posted here remember if there was a pilot in the sector for a long period of time, because I am sure the pilot I saw, was there for about an hour.
Happened to me a few minutes ago. I may be wrong and it was just a coincidence…but on the second try i filled my cargo with fuel to ensure, that i have the required 25% for using gates when i arrive at the portal and voilà … i could jump out!
My guess is, if you haven’t enough fuel, the portal won’t show the "Press C’-message. However, there is no message at the portal, that you’re low on fuel and no fuel to refill, when you get stuck.
But on the second attempt i had a much faster ship (first: Gunship, second: Recon, with Microwarpdrive), so maybe the guy above is right and it’s a time-based bug.

I had it happen when I was at 38%. I even grabbed a can I saw and tried at 88% and no go.
I logged on. Accepted squad invite Excepted Convoy escort mission(Location:iridium hall). Failed and canceled the mission. Excepted mission Lost Convoy(location:Pallas Border). Undocked in a katana ae with 1 squad member, which had a escort mission in pallas borders. Jumped into stripped deposits. Flew to Orange giant gate. Squad member jumped first. I jumped to unknown space. Flew to portal(cloaked once) and had no interaction with the portal(cloaked and decloaked). I had enough fuel…
I suicided an alien and used a duplicator to try again and still had no interaction. I suicided another alien and returned back to station. Jumped striped deposit and back into unknown space. Flew to portal without cloaking and had no interaction with the portal. Suicided another alien. I tried again but safely login out and back in. Still no interaction. I wish i could cancel the but I cant. Is it because I canceled my previous mission?
