So, there I was in a SAFE SECTOR. Just fighting pirates, suddenly I noticed that I had no station protection. At all. This may be due to a reason I don’t know. But it’s seriously annoying since I have had an issue several times where a player just camps this area killing ANYONE that comes through. It ruins the game, especially since I’m a rather passive player and don’t attack other players without good reason. But when I don’t have ANY way to defend myself because my attacker is under station protection (Note that I did not have the aggressor or PvP tag thing), it honestly makes me wonder why I bother playing.
There is a tag near the launch button where u can toggle sp off and on, perhaps u toggled it on mistake.

Thanks for the advice but I have station protection on at all times and have positive Karma, as I said, I do not PK (player kill) and do not attack anything other than hostile pirates/biomorphs.

Well then you should not be able to be killed. There’s an easy way to check if you are “PKable” whilst in Invasion: just look on the minimap, and if your icon is blue then you are safe, if it is orange then that either mean you have station protection turned off, or that you are in a zone where there is no station protection (the red zones on the Invasion map).
There is old bug that cause tagging you as criminal when you are in squad and anyone pick up the “booster” (that flashing thingy that give eighter health, speed or damage buffer), not sure if fixed yet.

if you are in a group with someone non-SP, you will also be non-sp
Thanks for the help guys, to answer the question, I was in Ontregos pass or something, a zone that NORMALLY has SP. I was in a group at the time so maybe there was someone without SP on. I came here in a very bad mood because I had just lost the things I had gathered. Like literally just short of the gates.

People with station protection on can’t damage people with it off, no matter how hard they try. They can shoot with things like eclipse, coils, or scattergun, which makes it hard to see and hear stuff, but other than that, they can’t hurt other players at all.

I think the friend you were flying with had his / her station protection turned off which turns off the station protection for the whole squad. Next time ask your friend to turn their station protection on before you launch as a squad into open world
