STAR TASK MARATHON missions are not working, I looked many times in the ship tree for any marked ships and there are none. Mission can not be completed. This is the only mission I have for A. Gage.
You must own the ships and click on the module and switch to it. Once you attempt to switch primary modules it will prompt you to activate the tasks.
Though I have found that completing them does not yield any reward yet, so I would wait a bit.

Little green (!) in top-right corner of ships in ship tab for some. Otherwise it is hidden somewhere on the ship’s main module if you already have it.
You have to wait until the timer finishes for your next task, then it appears. Which is handy because the timer is gone because the assignments weren’t listed in A.Gage anymore 
Second day the ships are now marked as they should have been… No additional ships were purchased as people have been reporting back to me… thanks for the help guys. But you were mistaken.

The green exclamation points that are supposed to be there when you take the ship task ARE NOT there.
Just logged off after I verified that I indeed had taken the task “Star Marathon” from A. Gage.
the green exclamation points that are supposed to show up as a result of this task are NOWHERE to be seen in the ship tree… any part of it.
It might be helpful if A. Gage told you WHAT level of ship to be looking for, OR what TYPE or FACTION of ship. Just as a suggestion.

Cancel the mission from A. Gage (the one saying: “win 10 PVP or PVE games with…”), then you’ll be able to see the green circles with an exclamation icon over the next ships: T3 and 4 destroyers, phoenix, reaper, archeleon, stingray and brokk. This is green circle is ONLY displayed if you DONT have those ships and fulfill the rank requirements to purchase them; you wont see a green circle next to phoenix if your empire rank is 6. I just tested all of this, so it works. If you still encounter problems after checking the previous statements, see the link Skula1975 posted in order to make a proper description of the issue and upload logs.
The exclamation marks only show if you do not have a container mission already running.
