Just to add additional anecdotal evidence that the current tiers and grind should be reconsidered if this game is to grow in the future, two images:
(Note that I am not mrmudman smurfing, in case anyone is wondering.)
Regarding the population bump from dreadnoughts (I believe that release was in April?), one can see that it is already dissipating per my earlier suspicions. I know that not everyone who plays Star Conflict uses Steam, but it seems fairly useful for demonstrating a rough trend.
Dreadnoughts are not as accessible as the old sec con, resulting in most of the previous “randoms” to be unable to participate.
Yeah, it doesn’t work so well when the prime game type that you are basing your advertising strategy around is restricted to very limited timezones, requires players to do a ludicrous amount of resource investment and planning/recruiting, and then results in mostly no-show victories with 90% of players never even seeing the dreadnoughts in action.
That, or maybe the decrease in player population is due to the crazy lag spikes that have been happening lately. I just finished a match where my ping reached 1047 with 4% packet loss on a US server.I am in the US. I should not be experiencing worse lag than on a Russian server. My Guard frigate was wobbling worse than any interceptor I have ever seen.

Since the majoritiy of the players uses the non steam version, this screen is not representative.

good day.
Unfortunately i have to say that we have some technical problems with the US servers but also with Russian and others, but we are constantly working on them, trying to make the drawbacks as little as possible. This aspect has the highest prioprity and our team is doing our best to make it work perfectly.
Even so, this game should have at least 30000 players, to make it worthwhile!
I can bet, that we are nowhere near that number. I think that 24-hour peak average now is around 2000 players with Gaijin and Steam launcher included.
If you wish to deny this, you can implement population and tier counter back into the game.
Why hide something, which can only improve our experience?
Matter of resources? No. Concealment from the facts? Yes!
In fact, we are losing players faster, than getting a new ones.
Even if not, the problem is, that we don’t know how to keep them more than a week or two!
Yes we don’t have 300000 players for now, but your number is the way too low and far from reality, although i understand that u named it roughly.
The statement about losing players faster than getting them is not true. None of the games has 100% new players staying, and our statistic comparatively good. People stay, leave good reviews about our game. We have aspects to work on, nobody denies that, and we r working on them. Even now we are developing new features for new pilots.

Maybe you could suggest the dev team to bring back the player counter as an option. That would close a lot of mouths imho.

Try to play during Us prime time, it’s hard to get game in t5 apart 3vs3. T3 almost all the time you get 5vs5 with longer que. I guess that’s the reason why they don’t want to show the numbers.

They really need improve the us population.
Still, US population is way higher than it was before release. Although it is still a fraction of russian/euro population.

I will suggest it, but it was of part of game interface restructing. Monitoring the amount of pilots was drawing away the players’ attention from playing the game so we decided to eliminate it.

Then put it somewhere, where not everybody can easily see it.
Like it was with the stations, Jericho, Empire, Federation, let it show again how many people are there. Not many want to calculate.
