Star Conflict v.1.0.12 Discussion

More and more randoms are joining the game. It is good for a healthy game and lowers the waiting time. I don’t see a problem here.

I think the problem is that in the old days you joined as a random, learned the game in T1 and T2, then joined a Corp and became team-focused for T3 and T4.

Now, you join as a random and stay as a random until T5, and then you consider joining a Corp if you want to play Sector Conquest. Otherwise, you stay random.

  1.  Thas why I choose a region, becouse I dont want to play another one. If I choose a region and I am placed randomly anyway, It has no sense to choose region.

It’s not random, the game *will* try to find you a game in your favored region. It’s just that sometimes it can’t find one.

but weren’t you the one who complained about slow progression the most? So should we all blame you for this?

ESB’s fault like always!

Blame ESB!

My problems with the old progression were in moving from R7 to R12. R7 was a MASSIVE difficulty spike, and having to struggle through T3 with crap ships and crap gear was just unbearable. The lower progression was fine, and the problem now is that people progress too quickly through T1 and T2. That said, T1 is so devoid of content now that if you DON’T let people get to T2 in their first hour of play the game will lose 90% of its new players through boredom.

In theory, the 5-tier system should have smoothed that out. T5 should have been old T4, T4 should have been old T3. But that’s not what happened. I think part of that is that ESB and their ilk got preferential treatment, so they had a big leg up when T5 launched. Everyone else got shafted, which pushed some of T5’s potential players away. Others were pushed out because the new progression mechanic made it harder for them to close the tech gap, so they stayed in T3.

SQ does feel like old T4. Unfortunately, it feels like the worst of T4 most of the time; the classic “4 randoms vs the ESB squad” plague that killed the tier off in the first place. I don’t enjoy SQ anymore because within the first ninety seconds of most games I know which team has won. Either my side will coast to a laughably easy victory, or we’ll get annihilated. No in between.

So it’s not just about progression - it’s about the different kinds of progression. Various parts of the game need to be sped up a LOT, while others need to be drawn out and filled with more content.

Actually doing a proper job of monetising the game would help a lot as well. It should cost about £6 to kit out a T5 ship with Gold modules. As it is, it costs over £60.

Jasan that lower price would just encourage ppl to buy their way to T5 and dont learn game(what to do, when do it etc)…

No it wouldn’t, because I said kit out, not buy. It would encourage people to buy Mk III instead of grinding for it though.

That said, I’d like premium ships handled a little differently. Make them cheaper but make the requirements to unlock them much closer to their free counterparts.

SALE!!!

30$ for all T5 premiums + 3x T4 premiums!!!

went a bit nuts and bought lots of ships…

Okay, I clearly need to get online after work :stuck_out_tongue:

Of course. It’s always ESB!

Happy new year from Spain - Feliz año a todos!

were you in a guard with the damage reduction field on by any chance? i’ve had it happen because (i assume) of that

No, my Recon. I used duplicator to dock at the base, then I got back the same way and then I docked. Also, Mendes -IX was already marked as a destination, but my objective was to get through the portal.

It worked the 2nd time and I dock. Just use the same gates.

.

Update on Scatter Gun discussion:

Just received one-shot 10296 damage (multiple times in a match) from TheCoon, ESB. Was flying low-syn Jarl (Recon). So, the theory that Inties do get less damage from Scatter due to Explosion Damage reduction does not seem entirely confirmed.

In a frigate you could have got 15 k with that shot

it’s a plasma gun. sometimes my memory eludes me.

Do we have a counter for the amount of ships bought in the sale? Like seriosuly, my chat was being filled with those messages (whether if I was in battle or in global).
