They introduced a slow barrel effect on a new iteration, but buffed cooldown, so it is not as useful on close range Inties as it use to, but it is easily a huge buff to Ion Crit Gunships.

Well, you can make pulses with horizons and not curved lens, i guess, but in order to hit interceptors with A1MA and compensate for angular barrel slowdown, you will need some distance i would assume ~1500, Pulses with curved has, what, 850-900 optimal range?

What kind of math are you using?
The only thing I like about the build-a-ship thing is the variety of the special modules. It brings me back to better times when you did not chose the ship only by bonuses (and slots now), but the special ability too !
I prefer ECM with only 3 sec invulnerability time, but stun for 3 sec or have 2500 range
or Gunship with less overdrive time, but 30 all resists to hull or with integrated combat reboot in it.
