Star Conflict OBT v0.8.3 Discussion

dive in and kill…lol, in t3 with a wolf…

which ship u wanna destroy in ur 5 seconds window while diving in and out without dying?

i mean there are a lot of ships with 40 to 50k plus…

okay i dont wanna argue with u guys seem to have always the ONLY right opinion/ answer…

BUT one last thing, nukem > wolf by far…period

have a nice evening…

The only difference, and he will soon learn of it, is that I’m MUCH more stubborn than he is.

Someone on the internet that will never admit to being wrong? Yes, you are truly unique…

FYI, stubbornness is not a virtue.

On topic of Nukem vs Wolf, i really don’t understand why are you arguing which one is better? From my T3 experience it is really hard to build a ship that would be best in absolutely all areas of a fight, so called allrounders, ship build for specific purpose will be always better, wolf and nukem are different ships, so different that it would be beneficial to drive they own advantage and build around them for broad specific tasks on a battlefield and in the end you will ended up in slightly different purposes of these ships and different gameplay on both gunships.

P.S. Sabre, buddy how are you commenting on T3 balance if you still fly your Rank 4 Raptor engineer?? No offence but i have an impression that most of people here just ignore you and will ignore you until you get at least rank 8 ship in green gear.

Cause I’ve been in T3 matches and seen the problems first hand. I witnessed a frig ball. I spent about half a minute trying to whittle an engineer’s shields to the halfway mark, and then got bored.

The reason why I don’t have a T3 ship is because I’m doing contract grinding to level 6. Then I’ll pick a contract and follow it through to level 9. Rinse and repeat. Then at least I have some mk3 gear for my ships before they fight. Probably will be using Vanguard: they unlock almost every freaking engineering module. Fair enough, considering the Feds are masters of engineering.

And on an entirely unrelated point: should I use Heavy Plasma or Hail Plasma for the Anaconda/M/Crus Type S?

pardon me, i am alittle confused here: You have no T3 ships, but you have experienced it first hand. Did you use someones account to do so?

P.S. or was it your R4 Raptor that you flew in T3? :))

It was personal experience. I just found the Wolf a lot better at being a Gunship.

Read above.

Squad members had T3 in their lineup…

Yes, I did fly that Raptor in those matches. Will you please stop pulling the conversation in that direction?!

My point was that - with military hail plasma cannons and a mk 3 double deflector managing to land every shot from every gun on target - I was dealing about 4000 damage per shot at charge level 3. I got nowhere NEAR the halfway mark. I went and actually did something useful: popping their warp gates and preventing them from taking our beacons quickly.

Nice. might have to hop on again now. Hull strength increased for multiple ships 5.7% on my alligator. Although i usually deck it with shielding things anyhow :). My engineer has better use. maybe not as close to what we had but 40% range increase is good to me. Drones getting longer respawns in turn for longer range/faster shot

Graphics quality feature should be nice. should help my core i5 until the gtx 670 arrives hehe

Game titles. should be a nice little incentive.

Very pleased with this patch vs the last one. :D!

Please enlighten me how an i5 and gtx 670 are connected :S If your i5 is the bottleneck currently adding a gtx 670 won’t help.

He most likely runs the game on i5’s embedded GPU?

Oryngton: you’re mistaken if you think I mind people being bad. I fully recognize and accept that many have to be bad for me to maintain my high ELO.

That said, I do try to educate people to be better so that I get more potential squad mates to fly with, or opponents that are more interesting to kill then most. The higher average skill of players in the game, the more interesting the game will become for me.

But if you prefer arguing that your trash tier gunship is actually the best gunship ever, that’s your call. I’ll just collect some ELO next time I meet you I guess. Until then.

finally. the end. back on-topic?

Then you are in a very unique situation. Vast majority of cases you’re hit by one big source of damage and several small ones. Many of which overlap as the same type of damage. For example, when you’re storming the beacon in current meta you’re usually mainly show with lasers, hit by mines, nukes, pulsars and plasma arcs and often pokes by rails and plasma.

In most cases there is one clear massive damage source and a few minor ones. Typically thermal is big as the opener and then after you absorb arcs, minefields and nukes you can look at what damage type you’re shot at with and adjust.

Um, you just named all 3 damage types there, which was kind of my point,  and then you arbitrarily pick one as the expected major damage dealer.  So I’m happy you agree with me that in many situations you will receive several different damage types simultaneously, and should pick one and focus on it.

As to your claim that you can shield parry everything down dynamically, I’ve yet to see anyone do that successfully outside the 1v1 situations.

Also, as a guard, you are the ideal ship to lead in the charge to take the beacon.  As the other team focuses on you, the squishy stuff behind you lives longer and has a chance to do something.  So your job isn’t always to stand a lonely vigil over some forlorn captain or beacon.

I’m merely arguing on personal preference. But hey, keep on complaining if it makes your ego grow bigger.

Ohhhh myyyyyy

*do note, i had a 12 v 12 match right before this, so this was just weird, but whatever lol*

You press “F” and cycle through damage types as needed. CD is only 1 second. Also “leading” the charge doesn’t mean mindless zerging. It means staying in the ball and not eating full focus. And if you do eat full focus, you should stop “leading” and get behind rocks/beacon/allies.

they removed the CD actually, you can insta-switch now I believe. Only energy dictates how fast you can switch as far as i’ve seen.

because they let you change the setting to low for graphic quality… core i5 integrated graphics = low until i get my new card…

Yesterday I won 4 matches out of 13.

As result, my battle Tier went rock bottom and I was able to fly with my Arigato AE, Tiger II, Lance Bartle and King Nibelung in T3 matches.

Well, that was quite some Trolololol… but I guess the Matchmaker is still broken. So please look into it, dear devs.

Also, I would really like to know, how the Matchmaker determines in which team you are:

My squadbuddy and I (we fly together most of the time) have an average Destroyed ships rating of 1500, so far everything is OK, we win battles and we loose them… more or less by random.

But If we invite 2 more members to our squad (av. Rating 1100) it seems like the MM fills the rest of our team with Monkeys. The result: Well, look above.

Technically, you shouldn’t be in T3 matches with those ships. But the way the matchmaking system is set, it searches for equal ratings before matching tiers. So yeah, given a low enough rating, you get shoved into lower tier matches, even if you have high-end ships.

If you invite those 1100 rated mugs, you’ll be forced down to those ratings, as well.

So yeah, the rating system is all fine and dandy and keeps the ground competitive enough, but it will bite under-tiered people in the xxxx because of that exact situation.
