* Added a new game mode “Combat reconnaissance”:

  • At the start of a battle, a random player is chosen to be the team’s Captain.

  • Captain sees all the enemies on the battlefield, at any distance.

  • The enemy captain is also visible to the whole team at any distance.

  • The captain has only one ship that he chooses at the start.

  • The captain has very high survivability.

  • While the Captain is alive, his entire team has unlimited respawns.

  • The task is to eliminate the enemy team.

  • The number of attempts to find loot after winning the “Combar reconnaissance” is reduced by 1, due to the low overall duration of the combat.

Game balance: Battle search, matchmaking

* Added different queues for classic game modes and the new, experimental ones:

  • [Fight] Regular: At the moment, this includes the “Beacon Capture” mode. Number of spawns is limited.

  • [Fight] Arcade: This mode includes “Domination” and “Combat Reconnaissance”. Number of spawns is unlimited.

Ships: General

Improved Empire ships, now they possess the following features:

* Hull strength bonus +35% (relative to baseline values).

* Shield strength penalty -20% (relative to baseline values).

* Main weapon damage +5% (relative to baseline values).

Weapons and modules: General

* In preparation for the new player development tree, all the skill requirements for weapons and modules have been removed.

* Changed and refined the optimum and maximum range for the majority of weapons. Adjusted damage per second.

* Modified and arranged in the optimal and maximum range for most guns, adjusted damage:

-Maximum range for all weapons is +30% of the optimal range

-In the optimal range weapons deal 100% damage

-The damage decreases linearly to 30% in the maximum range

-You don’t deal any damage if you are out of maximal range

-The descriptions only show the optimal range

Weapons and modules: Railgun

* Assault Railgun: Reduced rate of spread increase.

* Rapid-fire Railgun: Reduced damage per second, increased spread, projectile speed unchanged, range reduced.

Weapons and modules: Lasers

* Increased damage per second by 4%.

Weapons and modules: Plasma Cannons

* Optimum range is now more adequate and closer to the maximum.

* Projectile speed increased by 20%.

* Increased damage per second by 10% (except for the rapid-fire version).

* Rapid-fire Plasma Cannon: Reduced spread.

* Rapid-fire Plasma Cannon: Reduced rate of spread increase.

Interface: General

* List of players in the battle is sorted by the strength of their ships.

* Added chat tabs for each channel. By default, the game enables the channel that matches the language of the game client.

* Added cooperation and targeting commands in testing mode. Currently only functional with beacons:

  • Context attack - numpad 1. Aim at the beacon and press the button.

  • Context defence - numpad 2. Aim at the beacon and press the button.

  • The whole team sees the message “Player: Attacking beacon Y”, “Player: Need help defending beacon Y”.

  • Beacons display two labels (A) - someone is going to attack, (D) - someone is going to defend the beacon, (H red) - someone is asking for help in attacking the beacon, (H blue) - someone is asking for help in defending the beacon

  • AI ships also use labels, so now you can see what they attack/defend

  • You can read the full description, leave comments and suggestions on combat interaction on the game’s forums.

Sound and Music: General

* Improvements and balancing of ambient sounds in the hangar.

* Improvements of hit sounds, balance improvements.

* Improvements in filter settings and torpedo explosions.

Bug fixes

* Fixed incorrect display of the possible targets of the module.

* Fixed mouse inversion in ‘disintegrator’ mode.

Only weapon mod to be a bit nerved is uranium core. Rail still has the highest speed and becomes even faster with it. Still hard to dodge it, especially stable rail (that is still missing slow barrel as sniper)

Edit:

Rapid Fire Railgun:

  • Projektile speed reduced from 3.8km/s to 2.1km/s

  • Spread increased by 0.73°

Now all weapons (mk1-mk3) having the same range.

Rapid Plasma is still a high spread weapon. 6.86° to 5.45 is a bit less of a reduction but the increase of effective range may make it worth. Also the slower increase of spread is a very welcome buff.

Did stable rail got a slight nerv? I think the dps was also changed.

Now after beeing possible to install everything i think the Ion warhead missile and Inhibitor unguided missile will become a very interresting testfield. Looking forward to fight with them and against them!

About the Stickers:

What about a contest creating a bunch of our own stickers??? :yes_yes:

new mode looks cool but we got 2 problem that should be adressed

first one is captain being given to bad players, i played only 3 matchs from wich 2 ended in less than 3 mins due to captain hiting the trhust and engaging the thick of the enemy army, as a result they get ganged and match ends way to fast. wich leads to the next problem wich is type of ship, getting captain in a fighter sucks becouse any attemp to face the enemy means everyone will target you, frigates in the other hand can perform their dutys of snipers with lesser risk of being killed.

i will sound like a total elitist xxxx but the game needs to have a way to determinate wich player is more skilled and give the captain to him, furthermore captain should be only for frigates, as i said before geting it in an interceptor or fighter sucks.

i have been tring the heavy plasma gun and i have to say i am quite disapointed, their damage is high but hitting anything with it becomes a pain in the xxxx.

i olso give a try to drones misiles, not impresed since drones in general barely hit anything that is not moving in a straight line, can we change drones main gun to be laser? at least they will be able to hit stuff with them.

Use booster circuit and it should be better, also try to engange frigates. Its hard to fight other things with it but you can also take down fighters and gimp guard drones. I really like it on my fighter same for hail.

Edit:

The Fee for Recon is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay lower than it should be. ~30k of credits is a bit less. Domination and Cap is someting about 50-90k for me. Repairment (all 3 ships down) also ~30k.

If the enemy or allied Commander goes stealth you can still see his target highlighted “S”

I have played about 30 or more combat reconnaissance matches, it’s cool but for some unknown reason i have been the leadership on all the matches but one, I like to be it and camp with a sniper frigate while everyone covers me LOL but this isn’t normal, it was not going to be random choose for every match?

(just tell me why, don’t solve the bug xD)

Nevermind seems that this get magically solved today

I’m suffering a lot of disconection problems after this update. its happening in the log screen, during game, in the hangar. I dunno if this is all related to the game but in my pc everything seems to work perfectly. Its only me or there are others with this problem?

Could you create a bug report in the open beta forum and add your system specs and the log files which should be located on MyDocuments/MyGames/StarConflict/Logs.
