Its inconvenient. It forces you to “read” a line of symbols, while in the old one you were able to see them instantly. Dont know how to describe it better. 

And I really dont get it, why they changed an working and good alignment of symbols. Its confusing, especially for those with 1k+ battles, who were used to it!

Sorry about the quality, they’re from 2 youtube videos. As you can see, even with x2 ammo and x2 missiles (old old system) it’s still easier to see, everything is like more… coupled.

As I said, the only “problem” or “annoyance” with a new one is the weapon mod being way out of place. There is no real difference in old one and a new one, after flying with the new layout a little more, you will be just as accustomed to it. The only problem Zak has is that he got use to the old one and doesnt feel comfortable yet flying a new one, but that is not HUD problems is it? Look at it through a brand new guys eyes, which one is better? Almost equal, but new one is a little bit more streamlined (just move that god damn eye sore weapon mod :))

Do you know what I would like to see? the possibility to let us move the hud, it would be nice imo if we could move everything to our taste, so everyone would be happy. I can’t find a cont to that.

Elementary visual communication knowledge tells you that there’s a whole world of difference. The new linear organization groups everything together in a single row, so we have to identify the symbols by ourselves. The old system used two rows so you didn’t even need to look at the symbols to know if it was an active module or a missile. In fact, I rarely shifted my gaze down to look at the old HUD.

 

The only saving grace of the new layout is the prominent gold icon in the middle. I’d suggest switching the positions of the main weapon ammunition and the missiles; the latter is currently lost amidst the row of icons, with while the former (which I don’t think anyone looks at) is much more visible.

There is no “everything”, we use to have 3 zones of attention - weapon mods, modules, missiles. Now it is only modules, 4 icons in the same area that easily seeing in peripheral vision (btw Zak, you are running 1200x something resolution, no matter where you look you see everything on the screen), and if one have to constantly monitor missiles cool down, here is a good way to improve, keep it in your “feelings”. Even modules, we do not spam them, if I remember correctly, the shortest cool down in the game is boosted Particle Purge (~15 seconds) and that is next to eternity. Of-course features like completely customizable HUD is nice and dandy, but at this moment, it shall be on the bottom of any priority list, even on a bottom of a candidates of priorities to put into priorities list.

Since the ammo is currently positioned in an exact spot to allow 2 more square ammo icons in between the ammo (left) and gun (right) I assume one of two things; It’s bugged, if you remember T4 ships used to allow 3 ammo slots, perhaps that factors into the bug in some way. Or if you’re bloody optimistic perhaps we’ll be getting multiple ammo again in the near future or that’s the plan (moving the ammo icon) at least. Probably a bug.

Why would it penalize them ?  they would have the same delay than those who die. those who die keep the ream delay (as it currently is).

It is not big issue for me though, but I did like more the system way way back when we had two different missile slots, and different amount of missiles in different ships. Current system is still better than old, as you at least get missiles back without dying (In old system, when missiles were used, you didn’t get them pack). But still dying is faster way, even if counting respawn time (assuming you have multiple ships to choose from).

True, we pretty much only have one zone of attention now, but the positioning is awkward. It’s easier if the active mods were positioned in the middle. Maybe it’s the side effects of my graphic design and communication classes…

True that. but there is a point in dedication, where I say, if that player really stacks 3-4 ships only to suicide gank, let him. Also, 300 secs cd is quite a bit per suicide module… since thats almost half a match usually, i do not think, getting the same amount of spam is as easy, and people really have to do it with intention - instead of just being “in a troll-mood” with one ship in the deck from time to time.

Can we have finally the Particle Purge nerfed? 

I tried Jerry LRFs yesterday again… they are pretty useless now (again). Its by far easier to get a kill with the Empire one. 

Imo: Get rid of the cloud and buff the damage.

Actually I think Empire LRF are worse because you will always have that enemy that is moving like crazy left or right, believe me, they’ve made me rage a lot…

Odd… I fully synergized from Harpy → Acid Hydra and had 7 kills on average per battle. Cant do that with the Jerry ones.

If you’re trying too hard to shoot at someone who knows how to dodge a disintegrator efficiently you’re doing it wrong. You have to catch them off guard. Just sniping like at a target practice will never make you very effective.

 

And i agree with Zap’s suggestion to remove the torp cloud and buff damage. They were weak before because of AMS, they were OP after AMS nerf, now torps got double nerfed with AMS shooting them down again and having their damage dramatically reduced.

Actually I cant one-shot an Inty (w.o. EB) with the Jerry one, but with the Empire LRF. 

Also, Jerry-Torps have a “passive nerf” on those players who use the Fed R1 Implant. 

Seems unfair…
