I really hope the “Artifact” drop has increased by somewhat like 300% with this. Because 110 Artifacts (T3) seems to be exactly the number I made since this was introduced; and I do play a lot with a positive win ratio, have licenses, extra loot dlc, and whatnot (unfortunately, most of it is iridium)
I don’t know if the subtext of many of our discussions has reached your dev team, but we actually asked to get the game less grindy, because it lacks progression and the unrewarding nature keeps players dropping like flies. Only those players seem to stay, who actually like the game despite the flaws it has; while it seems that every patch gives the elder players cool stuff, it seems that nobody in the dev team really takes his time to actually play the game from start once in a while, just to see how they would progress.
We don’t need the feeling in this game to be extremely special because of our gear. Of course it should still need time and effort to reach a certain point, and of course it should need more time to specialize in a tier, than possibly moving on with the ships, but it was already too hard, if you were not in the bonus year; and well, those players seem either going away from boredom, or probably live on the hope, that one day they even get some rivalry.
I do like the loyality change. I dislike the squad penalties, however at least they only affect MM. People actually should start to squad up more, because it’s supposed to be a teamgame; This seems discouraging for younger players, while elder players might live with it. But let’s see how it really works out in this area too. At least, Squads of 4 are back. Thankyou. I know this might have been hard to cope with, because maybe it would have been no problem, if we would have 10k players with the old system.
I find this system would be great, as it is. If the game comes back to actually reward you big time. Where you see the credits floating in, Artifacts rising, and fiddle with your ships until your mates go online.
Don’t overprotect old players in terms of keeping them lonely in their full sets, give them players who rise after them.
I really love what you did with this game technically. But I feel, while you do listen to the forum-dwellers, you still think in a bit of old terms when it comes to being a game company. Having a great product is one thing, having a successful community however is the cash flow.
This crowd is really patient, compared to many games I have witnessed developing, and we are all pretty forgiving. We do want you developers to have a successful career, and a game to be proud of on your resumée, and enough money to feed your children. We do want to see anyone dreaming of flying spaceships into battle speak about this game. We have players who openly admit, they pay, and the community does not react negatively to it. This is not a bad sign, this is pretty cool for a f2p title.
Even, if I fear, if any game comes along with a tier-less fitting system, much like recent f2p team games with robots, you will have a hard time, because the world actually craves for games they can even show off in youtube casts, or play with their friends, and well, “having a T1 star conflict lan party” is not something you could get people into atm., but well, it does not have to be.
I like the relatively low costs for extracting artifacts from items in terms of GS, since the yield is much smaller, and it is actually a sacrifice. Small amounts we don’t bother are actually the best thing to keep those people paying, who like to dedicate some of their money into the games they play. But when I get to the upgrade kits, which yield a free upgrade (110 artifacts in the same tier) I am again paying lots of GS. So if I pay, I can buy myself artifacts now. Nice. Or is it.
With all that said that leaves me to only one question at the moment:
If we loot an upgrade kit, and put it into the storage, where do I see it? Because I just got one purple upgrade kit for an Ion Emitter, and do not find it in my warehouse, after accepting the mail.
Actually, the answer to my question was, you find the upgrade kit in the same section in the warehouse, as it’s respected item would be, because upgrade kits are now Tier X item Y. Which wasn’t what I hoped for.
Also, sending to storage should be FREE. Maybe, Increase the artifact yield for self disassembling and make that credits based , but please, not more than 10% what it costs now to put it into the storage. this is just …
Btw. since I got it on tape: the T3 upgrade kit would weild 22 artifacts for free, 110 for 358 GS in the lab, and costs 382.5k to transfer to the storage.
Since a lot of games disconnect, some might wonder about the looting
