Grinding is bad mmmkay.

Especially the credit grind is bad currently…But I have been saying that since 8.* and nobody listens here anyway.

I am not sure i like the way Sector Conquest map turns out, amount of Influence points injected into the game now is through the roof, there really has to be some kind of influence points sink, minimum bid on sectors is obviously meaningless, and I don’t think simply inflating prices or increasing amount of sectors is the way to go. Currently I do not see or feel any “competition” for sectors on the map, they just get swarmed. 

 Obviously it has been only 2 days after the patch, it is not the time to start burning villages in rage, but the sooner Devs start looking towards it, the better.

 

Im not sure if it is that bad to see a more “colorful” map regarding corps.

Yet, it is true that the the Zerglings ruin many matches. I dont want to sound too pessimistic and I really hope that the “Wing” Option will be introduced soon (8+ Squads for SecCon)… but if that doesnt help… maybe SecCon needs to be rebuilt again. 

 

And yea, we bid about 2200 Points for the 8 GS/c Sector… Meet the new prices!

Interesting it may be, but it’s fundamentally flawed.

 

The old system rewarded you for trying to kill people, and while you could argue it’s not fair that someone who dealt 10% of the damage gets the same reward as the guy who dealt 80%, the fact is that the only way to secure kills is for people to actively engage hostiles. Now, many classes are punished for doing that.

 

Case in point, my ECM. Under the old system I got 80pts per assist pretty much every time someone came into my sights, since I would debuff, ping and then hit them with guns and missiles to help ensure a kill was made.

 

Now, I get 20pts if I debuff and hold fire, or 3 if I use my guns.

 

What does this experience rate tell me to do? Hold fire. So what happens if I have other people doing the same thing? What happens if I decide it’s in my best interest not to attack a target because I won’t get decent xp, and then the guy supporting me in a Tackler has the same idea, and suddenly our Engineer is dying because nobody wants to help him.

 

The game mechanics should, first and foremost, reward positive play. This system does not. I earn more points being selfish than I do supporting my fellow pilots. The fact this didn’t come up in the test servers… well, it either proves your testers are inept, or you didn’t test it.

No… The devs just succeeded in making the grind LONGER because we get LESS Synergy, no matter the gameplay. We end up first? Top of everything? You still get less Synergy.

 

WHY, is the Tomrentors’ icon STILL the same as the Crusaders?.

Not Really, you can play Jericho Guard in T1-T2-T3 and T5.

In T4 the Grizzly Mk2 is better.

CAN WE HAVE TRUE SANCTIONS AGAINST LEAVER/AFKER?

So I did some testing, and in T1 PvP a good pilot can earn more synergy than under the old system.

 

This is not exactly comforting, since it indicates that this change was done to help new players and xxxx over higher level ones.

 

Devs, please don’t balance your game based on Tier 1…

About the MM.

I just entered a match out of curiosity with a R12 ship and a R11, both below lvl 4 synergy and barely some blue mods. And what do i see? Lightbringers, Nagas, Spectre Falcons, Wakizashi Rs etc of the kind, almost everywhere.

WHO ON EARTH WANTS TO PLAY T4???

And you wonder why people completely skip it through pve or free synergy… And it was my FIRST attempt since the new SQ, which is… 2 months?

Thats what the current policy to give prize to cowards do to the good players.

 

I dont mean im skilled enough to carry an entire team, but sometimes im in squad and we keep more than half the enemy team busy and our allies doesnt even try to take the objectives, they concentrate only in feeding frags to the enemy or KSing or do whatever coward ppl do.

Have you considered going back to Tier 1? Seriously, the T1 games I played to test the synergy rates were actually really fun!

T2’s synergy gain was good as a cap in combat recon, but I didn’t get much well-rounded data there. Overall, it still feels like this patch is aimed at new players rather than improving the game for everyone.

Indeed, today my brother started playing the game again after 6 months and went T1 to start leveling the Empire ship tree. I watched it and the games had more action than half of the T3 and above games with frigballs/styxballs and camping

The players didn’t know how to to win.  T3 players know how to do that.  That effects peoples play styles.

Your comment is funny because those campers on the Styxballs lose the vast majority of the games.
