You didn’t read it right, what I meant is tackler doesn’t have enough extra dmg to compensate for a low native Freeze beam dps, while gunships have overdrive+overcharge.
Those beams can go as far as 7k on Desert Eagle and 5-6k on Other Gunships in T3. If you want to stop some one in track you have to get in range of your modules and again beams will slow by 67% and due to the nature of stacking mechanics of negative effects, tackler will apply another 20-25% and this is a total waste and inefficient way to use your modules.
Point is Commands and Gunships do not lose anything in efficiency by using beams while tacklers get a 40%-60% drop.

Far as I know you can switch with “M” (as map) - at least that was the default setting for me. But I guess you can set any key to it in the controls.

I’m grinding my Machete now, and the cold beam is making that a hell lot easier. 
I still see a fair mix of weapons in T3, though it royally sucks to be tagged by cold beam, then blasted by beach balls.

My Sai got knocked down to double digit speeds while afterburning, in a capture the beacons match. There’s just no chance in that situation.

They took the jingle bells music out of the hangar for one…I’d probably guess some winter weapon tweaks as well.
The KWP Freeze Beam, which stats wise is a thermal weapons, isn’t recognised by the Warden’s Field test contract. Bug or intentional ? BTW the dancing people in the hangar are funny as hell
