About the new weapons, it would be nice that after the event, they are renamed, the description changed, and added as new weapons, because it’s the variety that we need. They are nice weapons, I really like them, the frigate’s is AWESOME (even if it heats fast), the Interceptor’s is an interesting weapon (albeit weird), and the slowing lazor is a good utility weapon, but this one needs a nerf, because when used in a Tackler, you’re basically sitting ducks with far over 100% speed reduction, that’s too much.
The new weapons do feel pretty cool. Some balancing required, of course.
The HUD not displaying the damage, and not being able to toggle it because we don’t have the option to do so.
Holy crap… no wonder I felt something was missing. (Failed perception check on my part; had a long day, plus it’s waaay past midnight.)
is it just me or am I the only one less than impressed with Christmas trees in space. I play the game for a bit of fun and relaxation but I also like the immersion of entering another world far removed from this one in which I get to be a fighter pilot. I hate to be critical as star conflict has outstanding and addictive gameplay but the integrity of the game world is important to me, hence quests about Nicolas Klaus etc really put me off as they spoil immersion for me. When the developers get around to creating a backstory I hope they don’t continue with this type of thing as it will undermine the sci-fi.
I’m sorry to say this, but I am inclined to believe it’s just you. I do understand your point (and it is a valid, albeit unusual, view), but the game is breaking the fourth wall for the Christmas season, so I’ll just suspend my disbelief and enjoy it.
This was a reported problem by more than one users antibus ('ncluding me) - hope you meant investigating the problem itself, and not just the individual case.
The problem is the mission description asks for the wrong gun. Use the fighter freeze beam weapon and it works. Assists count as well. Just finished the quest in a single PVE mission.

That’s strange because I actually got 5 kills to count despite using the ceptor gun… Will try what you’ve said tho.

Let’s just say the thing is buggy as hell atm.
No idea then, I couldn’t get a single kill to count using the ceptor gun earlier, but the freeze beam worked first try just now. I’ll agree on the buggy as hell.

Confirmed, fighter gun works.
I also had an idea how I got those kills, maybe I’ve assisted/killed while getting assist from a fighter using Rayon Glacial.
It seems that there was a mistake with this particular option, will be fixed a bit later.
thanks, I missed that… shame about this, the game is absolutely unplayable without the damage readout (at least, for someone who’s been using it for hundreds of hours over the last 9 months)
I do have a blast playing though, as others have said keeping the new weapons and renaming them in the new year would be good too. Cool new ships! (no pun intended)
I think I noticed this with contracts in the past, but it’s happening again with quests. An unregulated custom battle with bots can be used to complete PvP quests.
Funny thing: The sub-faction contracts that ask you to kill “x” number of ships with “x” type of damage, ain’t working with the new weapons. The frigate weapon is EM, but alas, it doesn’t count towards that contract xD
Also, I like the new look of the Collision Compensator.
