Then why you is complain about frigates be killed by interceptor? that is the interceptor job you know?
Because before I could still get my @$$ kicked in a fighter. Simple as that.

Its either the above or that that takler dude hated me for some reason, he dropped my speed from 700 to 250. and I got killed instantly.

You had that coming. For a very. Long. Time.
You should test Tackler with Rapid Fire railgun with Target Painter + Engine Suppresor
PEW BOOUM !

I agree. Though, it begin called rapid fire makes zero sense. The stabilised railgun’s and the rapid fire railgun’s names need to be swapped.

Those of us who actually use them extensively know exactly why they are called rapid fire. Because they are rapid fire when you want them to be.
Well… I think the name is a bit deceiving. I think Rapid fire Rails should be renamed to “Space Shotgun of Interceptor Destruction”. But ya know, that is just me.

There will be a major rework of the weapons in some time so this doesn’t need to be changed.
Good pach…loot still sadens me. but please my eyes hurt from trying to find my crosshairs, make it more shiny with cool tech.
make some sort of quieng systen for pve, like queing for a serten instance in a serten tire, and lots more missions…im t4 now and the game has stoped, nothing to do.
more content is needed not just new maps and game mods…please make it more mmo not just pvp.

Do not ilude yourself, you ain’t that dificult to bring down.
healer frigates are good now b/c if you want heals then you better keep an eye on the healer. At the same time though the spam of frigates where 8/12 people run frigate is kinda annoying to go up against. There is no skill in taking 8 frigates and just laying as many landmines as possible before everyone gets to the beacon and then pop pulsar rotations. Its beatable but just really annoying to go up against when your squad is the only one left alive b/c we have the common sense to not run into the 2000m cloud of red mines.
I honestly think frigate blobs might be even favored with reduced heal range, as if you play interceptor you don’t want to get out of range of heals, but if you stay near your engineer frigate while he moves to an objective your faster speed means less. A frigate blob gets the benefit of staying near heals, having good firepower, just fielding to the field slow.
That is the exact opposite of what people are saying. Problem is that if you have enough engineers, essentially nothing ever dies. Example is the screenshots in my post above, score at start was something like 12:1 on kills. Against a great squad. Simply because everyone on the team sat near the engineer frigs and got healed up to full the moment they took damage. That is the problem.
Same thing is present in T2 in organised play, as was seen in the tourney, but to a lesser degree due to missing mods. But folks still had to take mostly stabs and shoot from outside of signature masking range on target that has spy bots to get kills.
Luckyo, you need to realize that in the tourney it was beacon capture/realistic mode. People don’t want to lose their ships to get even a guaranteed kill, and there is a constant front line so engineers don’t have to expose themselves regularly compared to the beacon games of arcade. Therefore long range focuses tends to be the best play in squad based T2 realistic, and you will rarely see a T2 realistic game between squads anyway (queues can take up to 30min). Organized play in T2 happens more in arcade, and ships go down fast, even interceptors with heals on. Trouble taking down healing interceptors in T2 happens with pubs and is mainly because of lack of focus fire or going after them with the wrong weapons (read: there are effective anti-int builds). And as I have said before, you can’t consider only organized play; it has to be good for pubs too for this game to survive.
I was playing on T2 the other day with a squad, and you were hard pressed to find pub members using an engineer that wasn’t a Raptor class (fairly new to game). And nobody on our squad really wanted to play engineer, though whenever we didn’t have one we noticed it was a lot more difficult to win. I ended up being the poor bloke fielding an engineer. I would die A LOT, whenever I exited my warpgate I could expect at least 2 locks within 5 seconds. Interceptors swarmed like bees to me, especially cov ops, and I usually went down within 10 seconds. The thing is, if an interceptor dies taking me down, they can get back on beacon faster than I will; their effective time out is less than me. This is a distinction from Realistic. I don’t think I’m a poor player; I’ve played near 2000 games now, and pride myself in my anti-int play. I still got many top scores and won every game, but my DSR got shot to about 1300.
Just to round out how interceptor heavy and engi low T2 has gotten, I fielded a guard frigate in one beacon capture mode. Went onto beacon, dropped and minefield and turned on pulsar: 8 kills within 30s. But there they all were, capping the next beacon. In recon, frigate captains die in the first 2 minutes.

I was gonna go OOO SICK BURN, but it’s “delude”, not ilude or elude.
I have an issue with the way engineers were nerfed. They needed a nerf, but this was the wrong way to go. Decreasing the range on their modules forces them into the frontlines, which most players agree is not their place. They need the range so they can support from the rear.
What should have been nerfed is their regeneration rates. I had a Combat Recon mission yesterday in which I was shooting at an Engineer in my Guard frigate. I was using stabilized rails with critical hit boosts. This Engineer was at the far edge of the formation, but because there were two other Engineers just within range, he was able to regen faster than I was able to take his health down. I was averaging 700 damage per shot, and it was barely scratching him.
The range on Engineer modules needs to be increased, and their regen rates need to be nerfed.

its a sniper weapon, it’s DPS is lacking. And didn’t someone say nanocloud/mass shield doesn’t stack but only allows 1 at a time?
Also, this will sound like one of those “when I was your age, I walked to school barefooted in the snow, uphill both ways!” stories but…
When I was blitzing through T2 back when I was R4-R6 starting the game, the only memories of the tier that I have were “snipers, snipers everywhere”. At least half of each team was sniping, and pretty much the main skill in T2 was “predict how torpedo will turn so you can outrun it”. There is always something massively broken about T2 it seems, mainly because it really lacks options to counter those broken things. In my days, it was torpedoes and disintegrators demolishing everything, now it seems interceptors are doing the same thing.
Just graduate to T3. It’s much closer to intended balance of the game, you’ll have most modules and all weapons available to you and everything except frigate balls will have a solid, functional counter.
Yes, I understand that T3 is closer to how the game should be played, and I have great fun playing T3 as well. But most players play T2, for one reason or another, and who is to say their reasons are invalid. Ignoring lower tiers when talking about balancing would hurt the game, you can’t expect players to just grind to T3 to get a good experience. There’s always going to be someone saying this or that is unbalanced, but when there are many complaints the devs do make changes (albeit sometimes overdue and excessive).
I also noticed a lot of snipers when I first started T2, but snipers aren’t as much of an issue anymore since about 3 months ago when they implemented missile shields affecting torpedoes, and now with the class system some people feel snipers are useless outside of Realistic. It’s important for experienced players like you to talk about this history when newer players are saying “BUFF SNIPERS.” If you remember how bad T2 was for you, think about how bad it could turn for others now.

please discuss everything not mentioned in the patch notes in a sperate thread.
You should have left the reputation screenshot. I think that needs pointing out: it’s far too low.

But it does not belong to this patch. If you think it’s bad create a new thread about it.
Out of interest, is there anything that does belong in the thread? Clearly gameplay related discussion for patch itself is banned for whatever reason. What exactly is actually allowed?

You’re missing my point. Currently Engineers are being forced into the frontlines where they are easy targets because of the range nerf. Their regen rates are what need nerfing, not their range. If anything, their range needs to be increased so they can sit further back and still help their team.
