no it didn’t work…at least for all TSK T4 pilots…

So when they unmixing the tiers? I’m just assuming they will. Had 4 of my friends hooked on the game, most of us spending money and everything, but now no one wants to play, (including me) :frowning:

Also just curious, but didn’t we all do a poll for some free ‘gold’ and it came up with almost everyone being opposed to mixed tiers? Why even do a survey on that if you aren’t going to pay any attention to the results?

 

 

edit- I forgot to ask, is there a place where I can xxxxx about mixed tiers and it will reach the ears of gaijin or is this basically it?

I dont usually post, but feel this game has really got broken this time, up until this patch it was great and a group of us were really enjoying playing as a corp. Now none of us play.

Yes i may be a high rank, and i can live with the idiots that keep saying everyone but them is a Ace…

 

but if i want to play T2 then i should be allowed to play and enjoy T2, not be forced to buy expensive ships and items just to get my maxium rewards.

 

I do hope this game gets fixed, i love the combat and whats been achieved, but this last patch … well i am done for now and so are 6 others that i played with.

The above was written as a reply to explanation, why reputation gain is lower, if you play lower tier games than what your current level would suggest.

 

I think this reply is a bit incorrect; there is no “punishment”. Getting lower reputation is not punisment. One can totally still play the game in lower tier, have fun, do some pew-pew and boom-boom in equal footing without any disadvantage (lets not mix up the ‘mixed tiers’ -issue to this separate ‘lowered rep-gain’ -issue, they’re two different things!).

 

 

It is only the reputation gain after the game that is lower, and for a good reason. If I want to grind my way up, I totally see that I should do it in higher level, to gain again even higher level. If I want to play for fun, I play what ever tier I want. No dictatorship, no punishment here, I’m totally free to do so.

 

 

You can still play lower levels; only if you wish to get to higher rank, you (logically) have to play higher tiers to advance (faster).

 

 

There were some strange changes in this patch, but I fail so see this reputation-change as illogical one.

This is written as just something for all to consider:

 

 

If this partially skill based match-making is going to remain, it brings other problem for statistics, and that way for example to corporation recruitment: Some corporations have requirement of win-ratio value.

 

When match-maker is (even partially) skill based, it tends to force (=> even out) the win-ratio closer to 1.0, instead of really representing the actual win ratio. Same partially for other parameters, as playing equally skilled opponents impacts your kill ratio as it should be harder (It should not affect assist that much).

 

 

Also, mixed tiers change this a lot, I think.

E.g. I’m unsure what happens if there is a T2 assist buff enabled, and T3 tier ship enables the same assist buff? The T2 player doesn’t get assists?

Biased poll is biased. Though I feel being minority for finding mixed tiers challenging and fun, so not many will care.

 

By the way… correct me if I’m wrong, but I recall point based rewarding was already there before. It could have been refined with the last patch, but I’m quite sure I got more cash when I scored better compared to others in the previous version too.

 

Such system can’t be flawless - I know no number represents my usefulness if I keep many ships busy on a 'ceptor while others complete the objectives - but it’s better than the alternative of everyone getting the same rep/xp/cash. Where would be the incentive to win than? Certainly not in the freshly nerfed loot of the winning team. :-]

 

The reward you get for your actions is winning, even if the loot now s*cks. Doesn’t sound too flawed to me. Getting put up against teams with tier 3’s when our team has none just because the people on our team have good stats- That’s some flawed sh*t right there.

I mentioned this on one of my earlier posts in a diff topic, but didn’t we all do a poll about mixing the tiers and it was a landslide for not mixing the tiers? Are the devs illiterate or are the polls phony?

also, i want my spacemoney back, i bought whole line of fed frigates up to t2, and they all came with S.H.I.T t1 mods that don’t even make sense (dualtanking? haloooo?), making me waste enough money for another mid tier2 ship.

My take on some of the changes I think are bad:

 

- Force-bought modules with a ship:

Whatever the purpose of this was, I think the goal could have been achieved by different means.

  • If the point was to make people use more money, then just increase ship price without forcing to buy the modules.

  • Limited warehouse capacity makes this feature very annoying for some players.

  • If the point was to give players hints what modules to choose for this ship, you could have some another way to give this hint. E.g. separate “buy with suggested modules” -button. Or pop-up dialog after first purchase describing the module setups. (Or something else).

  • If the point is to force people use MkI modules also, instead of instantly going to MkII or MkIII, I see this only as annoyance. Other means should be viable to make this happen, this doesn’t really force it.

 

- Mixed tiers:

While it might (emphasis on word might!) work to have e.g. T3.1 against T2.2 in a matchup, there are details that are broken:

  • In captain mode, I have seen how other team had T1 captain (easy to kill, as that player had only Frigate to choose from!), while other team had T2 Interceptor as captain (lot more survivability). This felt like a bug, captains should be atleast from same tier, if not even from rank. It was too easy to kill the captain, no matter what the algorithm deciding the captain mightr have calculated.

  • The details how different level active module mass-buffs or player implants compete against each other are unclear and increase the feeling of unfairness.

  • Efficiency is (and in my opinion should be) absolute and not relative, but it is a bit unfair for lower tier ships that are in same game with higher tier ships. Should there be (or is there) a reward boost for such ships? (These ships take a hit in their stats, with lesser kills/assists also).

 

- Patch notes :

I think there were some changes to some modules, that were not  mentioned in patch notes? At least on weapon modifiers, or are those only translation / textual errors?

 

- Loot change :

While I can fully understand the need for changes to the in-game economy and can understand everything else (lower income and such), the after-game loot value change could easily be seen as a problem for ‘Artifact scanner’ -DLC buyers. It’s value got highly reduced, without any replacing compensation.

 

 

 

PS: HUD changes and the new beacon hunt game mode are nice!

It is funny, I love rocking tier 3/4 players in tier 2 ships, makes me feel all warm inside.

Lol I see no problem here, but it does need to be reworked to prevent you facing 2+ tiers up. A tier 1 should never face tier 3/4.

Bump bump reminder, tier does not portray skill, and the higher tiers are using low Mk modules, so your Mk 2/2.5/3 gear is not too far below it.

Im sure youre a regular astroboy. (I feel my pen*s get longer when I kill a higher tier too, totally.)

Either way, the rest of the community, myself included, seems to feel that mixed tiers is complete sh*t.

Honestly, i have better games with new matchmaking, more balanced teams imho xD Even though there are tier 4 in tier 2 games…

You guys have to understand, playerbase is small, they can’t rly go and do OK, WE WILL MAKE IT SO THAT TEAMS ARE EVENLY BALANCED BY PLAYER SKILL AND TIER AND MODULES AND BLABLALBA… Queues would be 20 minutes, and you’d end up with same people every time and when 2 of them quit, you will have a 20 min queue again (maybe more).

I just have a problem with ship values and credit earning potential atm. I can focus only on 1 type of ships, i can’t buy a frig and an interceptor of the same rank, and have enough money to buy the next rank ones (i equiped them both and i unlocked the next rank ships and i couldn’t buy any of them two, because i had no money xD) Also, it would be better if you let players choose if they want modules or not, or just naked ships :wink:
