Kind of like Lineage 2 where you PKed poor pve players which made your name red and forced you to drop an equipped item until you washed your karma away if you died. Fun times, when half of the region was after you (I was a known ganker and harasser with my rogue, mostly against hostile clans, but sometimes just for fun as well, if someone was stealing my mobs he got PK and than brought friends with him, but so did I, which sometimes turned into freakin warzones (I was in a zerg corp :P) in the middle of a casual farming zone, some uninvolved players that strolled by were like dfq is going on xD). Ah… the times when mmorpgs were really HC and fun.
Module crafting, module upgrades (Warframe anyone ?)
and this :
I guess we are preparing for the open world and we will have “PK”(player killers) and regular people PvE-ing. Reminds me of the last open world I played like that with karma and such - Ultima Online in the previous decade. So a nice nostalgia feeling.
I have good hopes on that (and Dreadnoughts will be like HQ/House in UO ?)
Now we have the “karma” stuff?
I really hope that Open World stuff remains as it was supposed to be: purely optional novelty. So people can still play it as arcade (without having to “meta-fly” around “Open World” looking for matches or to do any stuff differently than now).
Press button -> Queue -> Match.
That is the butter of this game.
Yes, some extra Open World option is definitely bonus, as long it is not mandatory to waste time there.
I’m starting to worry that at least to change from faction hangar to another, you need to fly you ship manually from other to another. Blaaaargh *vomit*-

so that’s why i can’t change hangar now?!
When is the Linux version coming out?
Uhhh…what happened to the Linux version that was promised?
still no change on combat recon captain selection
I can’t even begin to imagine how an open sandbox mode is supposed to work and integrate in what is otherwise a lobby based team multiplayer game.
Hope you can pull it off.

open world =/ open sandbox.
What are the cargo slots mentioned when you mouse over premium ships, such as the spirt? It says +2 Cargo Slots. What does this mean? =) Thank you, love the patch.
Does anyone have video of the new hangars they can post?
Too many new things in this patch not mentioned in patch notes. Nobody saw the new galaxy map? A developer’s blog is much required regarding all this new mechanics.

i believe that was covered under the “cannot change docking stations in preparation for a new mode” post here.
That does not explain the multiple nodes representing sectors in the galaxy map.

Obviously it’s in preparation for the open world mode. You can’t interact with it anyways, so there’s not really a need for explanation of it yet. I’m sure they’ll give us plenty of explanation when it is about to open up.
What’s happening with the Linux version?
“Removed asteroids of dubious usefulness”’
How could you… T>T
I loved kicking those around T>T

Linux support is on the way - Steam is prepairing to launch it.

Indeed, as soon as all’s ready I will prepare a blog post regarding these changes and new mechanics.
That better not be what I think it is. THAT better not be what I think it is.
What? More grind? Probably. That’s usually what happens with major updates anymore.
And everyone is talking about an open world update? What is that all about? Didn’t Uhmari ragequit because Gaijin literally said “We will never, ever, ever make this game open world”?
Isn’t it plausible that the only reason we can’t choose hangars now is because they are preparing to introduce Dreadnoughts? I mean, those things have to have hangar space to park in.
Oh, and kudos to the dev team for finally killing the bug that was demanding a license to form a wing. How long was that one around for again? 8 months to date? And most of the corporations were reporting it that entire time because they couldn’t squad up? And we were told to send more game logs because the problem was still being researched? Players finally stopped buying licenses just to form wings, didn’t they. Guess it was time to patch it since the money-making potential dried up…
