I was playing a bit of PvP today (dreads SCL and so forth) there seems to be a serious problem with the balance of certain ships and matchmaker. Can anyone confirm? is this new in 1.4.4b?

It’s not new. MM isn’t balancing teams since squad removal/dread introduction (iirc that was around same time)
Many thanks to all the pilots for participating in the discussion of Star Conflict Update 1.4.4b. The new patch introduced a smart drop-in system in battles. The innovation allowed to increase the number of balanced fights, however, the waiting time in queue had been slightly increased, and the rules of Combat Recon mode had to be changed. Capture of the Beacons mode is removed from the general queue at the moment, but still available in custom battle.
