There’s a Federation ship buff which got added with, or shortly after their R14 destroyer, so I was expecting the same to happen with the release of the Jericho, then Empire destroyers. The Jericho destroyer came out about two weeks ago now, I don’t seem to see a Jericho ship buff though. I’ve taken different classes of Jericho ships out, flew around at everything from max, to full reverse, and complete stop, but never saw a Jericho symbol show up. When are the other two factions getting their buffs then?
Now let’s talk open space, and the old destroyer materials. I’ve been getting the feeling for a while now that OS is the thing you guys desperately want us to forget exists, but it’s there. You’ve gimped OS when you started putting things that used to be more OS related, into loot searches after victories in other game modes. A ways back you decided to increase the volume of destroyer materials required to make a processed destroyer material, pretty sure it used to be three raw Neo for a plate, and five raw Ber for a rod, now it’s 10 each, but the drop rates in OS don’t seem any better, which means we can regard that as another decrease to OS gains. Neo is pretty rare, but I get about five raw Neo before I get even one raw Ber, then I rarely get a Neo plate drop, but have yet to get a Ber rod drop. OS used to be a slow, but fair way to go about things with the old volume requirements, now it just feels so frustrating when you need hundreds of units of those per ship, yet they are so bloody rare. It seems better to farm Ber especially in the other game modes using max synergy rank 11 ships, which comes off as a complete waste of synergy, I hate doing, and I see no reason from the player’s perspective to put in such a requirement. Yet even that is going to be pretty darn slow going when you need 10 units to make a rod, and the random box for getting ten rank 11 wins with a max synergy ship consistently gives me just two units of raw Ber, and some other stuff I don’t need, I’ve never received five units of raw Ber, and certainly no rods. I had planed from the start to skip the rank 11 destroyer, and just get a rank 8, and 14, but had to make a rank 11 during this event since it was required to get necessary materials, now it looks like I won’t have enough Ber to make a Jericho R14 destroyer in time, making it feel possibly pointless to have even made that rank 11 destroyer. Why haven’t I been actively farming more Neo, and Ber all these months? Because with how gains for both work currently, it just feels like such a painfully slow, virtually fruitless grind, and sure as heck isn’t fun.
All this frustration in this, and other things just feels like what I’ve seen in other online PC games in recent years, with them shifting to what was more of a way of doing things in browser, and mobile games. Companies make it “technically” possible to get whatever without paying, but it’s massively frustrating, and time consuming, as a result many that really want it, and don’t quit the game over it, break down, and pay real money for those things since they’re also in the cash shop. Used to be that buying things that can be directly used in gameplay like equipment, or the materials to make equipment was completely taboo, at least in PC online games, it was just those browser, and mobile things many labelled as “pay to win” that did that sort of crap. Now that is getting more, and more common in PC online games too, it’s a big reason why I just am not looking to get into new PC online games, and am instead looking to get out of the ones I’m playing now.
