Star Citizen

Was that a glimpse of nerd heaven? I had a tech boner right there,

It’s all broken beyond even our ability to repair, though.

This would be the nerdrection.

DO WANT!

Arena Commander 1.0 is out. New ships, a lot of new features and quite a good improvement.

When I download the 20Gb patch (lol!) I will make a video.

i think i will need a new harddrive for SCitizen soon :stuck_out_tongue:

this little game? for me…

How is Star Citizen going friends? :^)

Still boring fly model

So far it feels like a dumbed down version of star conflict. Sure the visuals are great (when you don’t crash) but the only thing you can do now is PvE vs enemy ships and 4v4 games which were mostly pay to win till they introduced the rewards so you could “hire” weapons and ships for playing.

I will come back in a year to see how it is. I hope it is not another fiasco as Elite Dangerous.

Well it’s called Star Citizen not Star Mercenaries or Star Soldiers etc… ;p

i guess you could say, arena commander is not balanced, but p2w is reserved for other usecases.

still looking forward, reading up dev blogs, since it is the sandbox which has my interest mainly.

so far, it feels more like a flight sim in space. i like the power distribution UI idea in their ships (triangle between weapons, thrusters and shields), but of course flying full newtonian inertias on mostly empty maps relies much more on generic flight, than arcade style fighting like in conflict. it’s a bit more comparable to WT.

i do not find it boring however. but maybe more because it feels a bit like your ships are decomposing like in space engineers.

elite was announced to introduce a lot of features i would wanted in their two expansions from the start, which is why i didnt back it. they were in fact almost unsuccessful with their backings, until roberts featured them in citizen; i think the elite gamedesigner is awesome, just has no big PR team.

still better than having almost no PR, which may cost conflict a lot more than they realize.

Or how Zizek would put it, our desires are driving us, while they can be never fulfilled.

In fact, I think Citizen already has succeeded, since they built up a huge community, which is the most important thing anyway; even non-socializer players are driven by playing with others. amount of players is everything.
