Stabilized Railguns - A waste of time?

This is the GUN for long range frigates. Seriusly, my Hydra blows up engineer with ease, take out his shield with desintegrator if you lack a good weapon mod, then finish him off with missiles & stab rails. I dont know about intys, because i kill em with minefields.

From both what ive heard and personal experience, this weapon is for killing intercepters due to railguns/plasmas aim help+the high projectile speed.

I would love to see a deadly long range lolazors build

Im doing this, jericho LR ship, stack range as much as possible, shoot frigates (you cant hit anything else) untill you overheat, then press F and try hit something with the missile to keep your dps up.

Just make sure you use the EM scatterfield and your targets are somewhat close to your optimal range.

can try, ill let you know if they dont get boring xD

IMPOSSIBRU!!

They’re crap to go on a kill streak, the only thing you can do is shoot big stuff and the occasional slow fighter to death (even that is rare), otherwise just random assists or drone sniping.

They’re boring as hell xd

Note: it’s about long range lasers here

I love my stab rails - they’re not weak at all. They just require a specific play style and to make them efficient, a decent hit % in combat. If you miss most of your shots, these weapons are not for you.

ITS A CONSPIRACY!!!oneoneone1111!!! He is using its 46646 puerples!

Just kidding, stab rails are a pretty good weapon, you just need the skills to use it.

And the right ship.  I put them on an interceptor one match.  Not again, in my fighter they work, but not against a swerving interceptor.

With the right setup, Stab Rails can hit targets nearly 6,500m away in T2. Probably further in T3.

They are sniper weapons, and should be treated accordingly. Don’t fit them to anything you intend to take up close (Interceptors), or that relies on weight of fire to do damage (Gunships).

I use the Stabs on some of my Fighters and it deals a decent amount of damage to Fighters and Interceptors.
Once the shield is down, it’s almost a guarenteed kill.

I use stabs mainly to wash the field of interceptors. It does the job just as easy as lasers.

There’s almost no difference in physical mechanics between them and the rapid rails in close combat, even tho spread, charge accumulation and heat have different parameters for them. You can use them at any range within it’s limit without a problem. Just don’t be lazy to turn around :stuck_out_tongue:

Stabilized Rails are one of the most deadly weapons if combined with EM missiles on a tackler (best if tanky like the Machete S). Get their shields down with EM missiles and hold the StabRG charge a bit… -1200 first hit from a decent far range. You need to apply lead pursuit to your aim (shoot a bit infront of enemy marker) and they rule… Not good at all for close combat as their low ROF makes you easy kill for the now (0.9) very OvPw interceptors… Too bad no close combat (offensive)defense for tacklers… the ability to carry at least proximity mines would be great for those that can’t cloak.

Mesh.

I am still new but, I think what I am trying to talk about is the same thing. Rail Guns in my book are decent. This is because when you run a Fighter:Gunboat your agility is not that great you can defend yourself easily from other fighters. The problem with that Ion weapon on a fighter is it takes time to charge up. This means that if you are doing hit and run tactics your first bullet is only going to do 160 damage vs the 500 or so the rail gun gets in it’s first shot. However if you are running a Fighter:Tackler this is not an issue to consider because you get a module to lower their engine speed. I use that strategy with attack speed modified ions on my Silent Fox and I vaporize Interceptors in less then 5 seconds when I get a hold of them.

I disagree with any notion of NOT putting them on a Fighter.

Missing my stab rails on LRFs :’(
