Squad rank restrictions are too strict

The squad rank restrictions are way too strict now. Instead of needing one ship of +/- the top rank of the leader, it requires one ship of the same rank. This is terrible in every aspect and should be reverted.

wanna bring the low tier ones up in squad? ![:p](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/004.png “:p”) i dont see any other reason why this is contraproductive, maybe i just miss your exact problem

i halfly agree it could be a bit more compatible into the negative direction (so at least highest rank -x )

but i would rather see a system more oriented in taking a lot of high ranked ships to unlock bringing a low rank one, so fans of special ships have to make up for their joyrides with good equipment and lots of ships

so measures against one ship wonders would also be more important to me personally.

maybe the rules could simply exclude the 4th slot for any ship of lower rank, if the others are all filled up correctly. something more like this. it would solve a lot of problems.

Spec Ops and PvE suck with this.

Mainly this, yeah. PvE should not be rank restricted. The leader should set the tier of play with their ships, and everyone else should be able to use any ships they want within that rank range.

Cant agree more, PVE, coop and spec ops have a wide range of possible ranks to be chosen that should not force players to fit a specific rank (and not fit higher ranks) according to squad leader loadout. It sucks and makes no sense since ive had to leave the squad and solo queue to get into the same game with the squad i just left, if i want to keep my ships that are in the proper rank range. Another classic example: get a group of 4 players, agree to play R10-15 PVE, cant queue because squad leader has R11 max and someone has R12+, squad leader adds a R15 (diminshing his drop chance to get berillyum), cant queue AGAIN because the 3rd or 4th member hasnt equipped a R15. Now move this to spec ops with a wing of 12 guys…time to enter queue can go up to 5 minutes constantly trying and asking to bring proper ship ranks due to this silly issue. The message notifying which player does not has the proper ships is amazing, but the huge restriction is afwul. This needs a rework for PVE, Coop and Spec ops.

System works perfect for PVP, but awful for any other game mode.

I dislike the system. It should be reduced so that every ship in a particular tier can be used. Have a rank 15? squaddies may bring a rank 13 without the need for a 15, and they can bring and use ranks 10-13. while the current system keeps the leader using ranks 15-12. But the squaddies must have at least a rank 13 to queue with a rank 15 squad leader or other squaddies with the same rank as the leader, etc.

This would be perfectly acceptable for pvp/pve/co-op, etc.

For leagues,  all pilots should be able to join - even if it’s a rank 15 leader with squaddies of just rank 11 ships (but no lower)

And one ship wonders must stay allowed. If I want an entire squad to queue with just one ship each, it must be able to happen, even in the realistic setting. Why?

It’s fun. Very FUN! That is all.  ( It’s something that I find to be a key feature that the current star conflict build lacks, as leagues are pretty much empty. T.T )

Remove the ship number limitation. If pilots only have 1 ship fully equipped or if it’s the only ship they intend to use, DO NOT force them to bring 2 other ships, why? Because the other two will likely be naked anyways.

why is this in the bugs section? (I suppose it can be seen as a bug, as this current system is terrible, but it should be in the suggestions)

I agree to all of this, but in PvE, the tiers should be divided in to their specific rank levels like the devs use now.

Level 1= Rank 1-3

Level 2= Rank 4-9

Level 3= Rank 10-15

In the case of queueing for the different PvE levels, the squad leader’s highest rank ship should set the level, and all squad members can use whatever ships they want within that rank spectrum.

Another thing, The credits reward should scale with the difficulty(tier) of the mission, not the level of the ship you use. I.E The Rank 11 squaddies will gain rank 15 rewards for completing a rank 15 mission. (or in the case of 3 levels of pve, the rank 10 will gain rank 15 rewards)

I personally believe that the current credits rewards, even with premium license, isn’t enough.

Exactly this yes omg.

And when I mention the 3 levels of PvE, that is actually how they are managed atm. The problem arises when the rank restriction is imposed and the squad is stuck at whatever rank the lowest rank player is. I often squad with low-rank friends to play, but am required to bring my rank 4 ships in the rank 4-9 PvE so it just makes life that much more difficult.

If i recall correctly, ranks for PVE are:

Level 1= Rank 1-5

Level 2= Rank 6-10

Level 3= Rank 11-15

As for the suggestion I think that restrictions on the MM doesn’t make much sense to PVE, COOP and Spec Ops. Unless the devs are thinking of merging some game modes.

I’ve a feeling, that it was discussed before) It influences matchmaking, if we restrictions will be eliminated, ballance will suffer.

This discussion was started right after the introduce of the fufu patch that brought it.
Balance DOESN’T SUFFER. Either you don’t check your own system or just won’t do the work needed to change it. We can do Spec Ops with ship up to -2. And in PvE it’s even possible to do up to -4. But no in groups you aren’t allowed that. But that random bring in -x rank ships is okay? What for a fufu…

Exactly. The “balance” has nothing to do with it since random queuing can bring ships 4-9/10 but squad queuing restricts that heavily. Squad rank restrictions should only be that of the difficulty level you are queuing for.

knowing this is ONLY for PVE, COOP and Spec Ops (not PVP): MM will remain the same (since squadding only limitates the possible range for queueing without it)…besides, theres no balance in PVE, COOP and Spec Ops.

Current “restrictions” for these 3 game modes are 3 queue pools:

Level 1= Rank 1-5. Level 2= Rank 6-10. Level 3= Rank 11-15.

When squading up, those restrictions are still working, but you have an additional one: “must carry same rank for the highest ranked ship of the leader but not higher”. It is senseless, constrictive and provides only but problems. This system forces players to leave their squad/wing and solo queue to play the same game with the same players that were together before disolving squad just to fly ships that were allowed anyway.

PVE, Coop and spec ops queue already functions differently than PVP, just remove that silly rule for the squad/wing at these game modes (except for PVP).
