I’ve found that the first word is a bit of a problem when it comes to this game, but grindiness aside, what do you do to gain karma faster?

You are not AFK, since you are still in-game…
And farming what anyway? It’s not like you can pick up minerals or anything if you do this.
Afk means personally. If you are not controlling the ship yourself, you are considered “AFK”.
And karma isn’t a resource, it’s a tab. It means nothing with the exception of achievements. Farming it should not be considered an illegal action.
I’ll look in the rules when I get home, but I have never read anything banning this before. Now if you create a bot programme that fires your main weapon for you and use that to farm in Invasion, then that’s not allowed for sure!
Edit: I looked in the rules and found nothing that bans AFK farming, unless it is done using “any software and / or hardware automation that allows for gameplay without the intervention of the player”. However being AFK in PVP or PVE is an offense since you are “Avoiding combat without leaving the battlefield.”

Tillo is right, you don’t get any karma for farming the bios in spawn. Just synergy.
I gave up on gaining positive karma, as it takes a long time. Negative karma is much easier to farm, as player kills give -50, and police give -5. Whereas pirates/cartel/cybers give +1 or +2.
When I was farming positive karma, Water Harvest was great. Plenty of cartel pilots and aliens.

I wasn’t talking about this. Just take your engie to a low tier safe zone, and find a cyber spawn point or something.
