Speed Cap

Why limit the only source of defence a interceptor has?

Never see any errors during computing the ship’s behaviour.

It also severely hurts any advantage gained from picking a faster interceptor (ie. Kite-M), because it now no longer has that advantage over the other race’s interceptors (which also easily get to 600)

It does have more advantages then other interceptors. You do not have to focus on increasing speed to the max with federation interceptors now. Which allows other opportunities to focus more on weapon damage, or defense. As i am sure everyone already knows, the federation interceptors are very easy to kill, and only have speed as their advantage.

Being able to cap your speed before other ships, give you the unique advantage of having more offensive items or defensive items. Thus allowing it to be more rounded like some of the other ships.

I know it has other advantages. I specifically said “that advantage”. I chose my words carefully.

I like this change, for the simple reason of being able to also choose what ever faction i want, and get a good interceptor of my choosing, with out having to worry about being the slowest.

I feel a lot of people are more focused on the few negative things presented from this change, vs the many positives presented. The positives out weigh the negatives in my opinion, thus making this a decent change.

Were Pulsar modules Tier 2 before? Because they are now for my Jericho Templar Frigate. Makes me laugh (cynically) when added to the speed cap.

Interceptors: No chance to survive.

I don’t like it. Never take away speed if it works. I don’t think they were that broken before, I never had a probelm taking them out in my fighter, or my own interceptor, and I love flying around in mine 600+. I FEEL THE NEED, THE NEED FOR SPEED. I’d be happier with a 650 cap.

BUMP SPEED

Unlimeted speed or 700 cap now! :fighter:

The speed cap was made because of the game engine. At a speed about 600 the game engine gets problems to calculate hits and collisions which may lead to crashes and exploits. The devs are working on a solution and hopefully we will be able to increase the speed slightly.

600 m/s still seems fast for me.

Only if you’re a sniper trying to hit an interceptor. For everyone else, it’s a crawl.

Only if you is a jericho interceptor with shield tank, for a fed interceptor it’s a damm.

Yeh because the difference between 600 and 680 is like what? Yep, 231%, you are right.

Fed interceptors do not have to put a speed upgrade into every slot, which allows us to put other modules into those.

But you’re right, lets just cry for crying’s sake, i mean otherwise you wouldn’t post anything at all in this board and that makes me sad.

I go cry now and maybe eat a bucket of icecream. BUWAHAHAHA.

*sniff*

No, it’s ok, don’t hug me, please. dont. stop it!

nomnomnom. mhmmm chocolate cookie, love that flavor

Yes. After you’ve flown the proper T4 interceptor that pushes around 800m/s, 600 feels like crawling around the map. Especially when bot sniper frigates are aiming at you as you try to get somewhere.

Slightly? I personally wont spend another dime on another license or anything else until I know if my interceptor will just be a “agile” fighter with a speedcap.

They may adjust all speeds down to compensate. I.e. fighters and frigates will get nerfed on speed at the same rate as federation interceptor got nerfed.

That would be a slight improvement, even if it still going to be as easy to aim and shoot down an interceptor as you don’t ?track-aim? as far a head as you did when you could swoop around in 800.

Yeah thats true. I am also for giving interceptors the old speed, but doubling projectile speeds across the board and removing stasis altogether.

Cheers.
