Special Operation Strategy

_________________________________________________________________________________________

alright, so the strategy will be updated to 8, well used guards with the spectre field and a 37.7 regeneration on the module, and 4 high dps,/3 high dps with 1 healer ships. LRFs would be good to have. (provided they can self regen fully on their own, else-wise, bring one healer, 3 lrfs.

The guards must have a good amount of dps on their persons as well, provided along with 5-6+k range to the main guns.

Focus on the defiler at 5k range, or 5.5. then as soon as the defiler has his shield up, the entire group goes towards the opposite side of the map (not litterally, but by the time the Inverter appears, you’ll usually be within 5-6k range of it or 8k, either way, it’s short distance to travel for the main guns to work effectively. The LRFs will provide the extra damage needed to take it down after its first phase, or close to the second.

If the entire team has the dps needed, and they stick together and focus fire on only these two objects, it’s likely they will succeed.

As an added bonus, all of the lrfs will carry mines that will help to take care of some of the bios alongside the pulsar.

Here’s a strategy for all of you in the spec ops.

12 guards. All equipped with the spectre field.

All 12 must stick closer than a button. 1 spectre field at a time.

main focus - The Defiler, and the Inverters.

These builds will work well. -

they all must have long range weapons to focus fire upon the enemy.

Misusing the Spectre field will be a cause of death.

(optimal to use in ts, or the game chat.)

The torps are to be used against large groups of bios when you want some extra shield gain from your modules or if you need to get your spectre field online sooner,

and they are to be shot in unison with your wingmates.  These bios are nothing more than organic fuel sources to be used and discarded.

Using the rank 13a implant is optimal.

Another option is for everyone to bring drones.

do not lock on to far away targets, and they will serve as a very decent line of defense, along with the pulsar.

Only one guard needs to bring a signature masking instead of the pulsar.

no need for the missile shield, because the invis takes care of that problem.

not many guards need to use the pulsar, either, so some of the guards may bring some hull regen modules.

You’ll tank a good many inverter shots, but try to only use your own shield regen modules on the inverters themselves, and you’ll

all be able to tank it nicely. and it’ll die rather quickly.

If speed is your worry, have everyone bring the fed guard only.

(The inquis and the inquis S are built similarly,  you can even use the rank 12 Jeri guard for it.)

Another one is if you all have patriarchs, and you don’t really mind not using crit damage.

Who needs to run anywhere?

(it’ll get an even farther range, one of the cpu modules is MK.1) (this is with the 2b and 6a implants)

The range is great for keeping it up on both the inverters and the Defiler.

I think it’s a lie Wolfy… coz you didn’t won!  :012j:

but u are so slow… the map is huge

also if u were to actually do this u would need 1 engi 1 command ?

Yeah you pretty much have to travel 20k (10 on the way 10 when coming back) to kill the Inverters and then go back to the Defiler. In fact, using fighters without Cruise Engine was a pain to do the job killing the Matter Inverter.

When I was testing it out with randoms, it was working well.

We only kept dying because I wasn’t able to keep everyone close enough, and we misused the spectre field.

(some also didn’t have the right setup, and a few didn’t bring a guard.)

How far does that defiler go? xD

You only really need to go so close to him to fire at it. we don’t need to tread the whole distance.

He moves a lot, and going close to him is xxxx, no matter how many EM resist and regen you have he has a lot of weapons, is like a swarm of Hunters attacking you. He also launches a EM version of jerry LRF torps and they are also very strong.

Its offense really isn’t a problem (perks to being invisible)

Have you even tested it to talk with such security? I tell you you wouldn’t last long with that setup…

we’ve tested it during this last run.

It’s working really well even when we ignore the portals.

this last round, though, the server decided to lag in the form of everything moving slowly and firing slowly for both the bios and the players. We had found a good medium between taking down the defiler and the inverters, while torping the groups of bios along with pulsar that pop up every now’n then. (pity, though, because we were getting in the groove of using the specters one after the other.)

got the boss down to 83% before the lag started. most of the team never died till then. (after that, we died due to the lag)

the only ones who died before that were the two guys who strayed too far away from the group.

one key is to stay within 1000m of one particular player. (randoms for the win)

seriously, if a well organized group of players use this, they won’t die.

This is a nice team exercise, too.

p.s. I find that the inverters are close enough to kill them without traveling too far. (not to mention their popping up is randomly placed. sometimes they are right next to you.)

a lot of bios will pile up by the time u hit 50% if u don’t close any portals. also with no engi + command it is suicide before u have even hit launch. this isn’t normal pve where u can just wtfbbq everything solo in a guard

The bios are a fuel source, nothing more. we kill them to fuel our modules. (including the spectre field.)

the more bios the better. (our guards are strong enough in defense and high shield regeneration, that our regeneration is self sufficient.)

We do have the option of keeping one healer to add upon that, and to negate the price of the spectre field fully.

That healer Must be able to survive the inverters, though, or else it’s useless, and we’d be better off having another specter field on board.

I will not stand for a single death.

(we could put in a command as well for the shield defense, but like the healer, it must not die.)

Both must focus on staying in the middle of the group.

Your problem is that you didn’t even drop 20% of the boss health. When you start dropping it to lower numbers you will see how stupidly easy it was at the beginning.

Problem starts at 10% with ~12 portals open at the same time  :006j:

At 10% the game is over for the Aliens though. Once you reach that point it’s just a rush trying to survive the biomorphs and then it’s settled.

You tell me that like I didn’t finish that mission…

You tell me that like I didn’t finish that mission…

Then why would you say that the problem starts there when it doesn’t?

coz I had to move around to avoid projectiles and that’s a problem for me

I put 1 Vernier on the Spark and it was really easy, and I had 10% packet loss and 400 ping the whole game 'cause I forgot I was torrenting something…
