In the hour and half I have been flying around Invasion I have hardly found anything, and what I found was at best a 100k trophy. This is flying around dr 10 sectors. Is everyone else having this much trouble? PvP and PvE is much more profitable now, is there any chance I can get a refund on my T4 scanner, I only bought it a few days ago?
Edit: I have mostly been flying around outer Jericho and near Fort Muerto.
This could just be down to bad luck, just want to know if others are having so much trouble before I try for a refund. Up until today, using it was worth while, finding some nice high value loot.
Well, another hour playing invasion, found 4 mysterious crates and the best in the was a 15k loyalty box the rest was 60k trophys.
I reckon your right, the more populated the Invasion the less likely you are to find a crate. What makes it worse is that the crates spawn in the same locations, so people without a scanner can grab them too, if they know where to look. Now with all the fun going to start in Invasion, the area will be more populated, so unless you are prepared to play at unsociable hours the scanner is pointless, better off playing pvp or pve for cash.
It wouldn’t be so bad if the mysterious crates spawned in random locations in each sector, at least then people will have to actually try and find them.
I dunno, I’m just a little peed off after spending 3 odd hours playing invasion for little gain, especially considering the cost of the damn module.
In deed a happy customer is paying customer ! Saddly this is my 1st post here at the forum and it has to be a complain, yes I dont like the current rewards, spatial is no longer value for money. Some maps are overpopulated by biomorph, at times are weaker and less agressive, at times impossible to to pick loot or even make a jump not to mention trade drone use. Although I’m relatively new here I have the feeling I wont be staying much longer.
Well hopefully they will take a leaf out of War Thunders book, as they are quite fair. And a happy customer is a paying customer…
Loot tables are always changing, don’t fall into despair just yet, they are still balancing things. Invasion loot has been toned down accross the board, that’s true for all the container types and not just the mysterious ones. On other hand, loot has less extremes low and high value now; if you loot all the containers you can get and get them to the sell drones, you can still make some nice profit. The scanner is still useful at locating normal crates and loot drops from kills, just pickup everything in sight and sell like a boss. Oh and btw, the scanner also help you know when hostile npcs are around even through stations and asteroids, that can save your life against the strong mobs roaming around.
spatial scanner isn’t only a loot searching tool, it’s a multipurpose advanced radar that tells you where not to go and how to avoid it (usually by flying in the opposite direction of the red bars)
True but ordinary loot is fairly visible, the Enhanced Scanner is quite useful and as for NPC no need to say anything, we can see them. In other words Spatial is the instrument for non visible loot hence from T1 to T5 it costs GS. Apart from some minor importance items that their tag price is GS, is a start from the beginning GS equipment. I don’t think any Spatial user bought it to loot cargo from kills or spot fuel tanks and minerals.
I agree that the rare loot was easy to spot and there was no fun in that, but on the other hand, searching for hours only to find a pross. block or 100k credits item isn’t at all rewarding. Not for the amount of GS invested, nor the time needed for that. I saw most of the new maps, impressive project no doubt about that, however at this point the player base is rather low and all those new maps [not that the old and still existing were] are not populated. It really gets boring to be in map with barely any players and in addition the loot to be several times of lower value.

Plenty of normal loot containers are hidden from view, and dropped loot can be quite hard to see. Now, i agree the loot nerf hurt, but using the scanner still make looting way easier than not having one, just stop relying on blue containers to make your income.

Attacked Sectors/Invasion, imho, need ships with a specific set up, a set up for those territories which is very different from pvp or pve. Enhanced Scanner, specially maxed is very useful and will indicate in the fov a lot. As for NPC, again it will help, they show clear on the minimap.
Not saying the spatial is useless but the current loot value is not what it was bought for. I have few more examples, no need to go there now and in this thread, but let me put it this way. Buying an item with X specs and for X purposes with an X expected result today and that item has different specs or delivers different results tomorrow, then I’m not happy with it. If the today facts were back then when I bought it, I would simply skip the spatial. Income, never needed the spatial for income, many times I was left with 100k credits and in less than 24h had over 10 mil credits, pvp/pve pay well. The size of the reward has nothing to do with income, to me anyway. I see it more like a reward, the excitement of finding rare loot, I don’t see any excitement in spending 20 min to find rare loot that worth 60k credits.
Further more, regardless the reasons that the loot got nerfed, in my opinion was a wrong move.

Normal loot containers are not that hard to find without a scanner, even the hidden ones, but then again you don’t really need to find the hidden ones. Dropped loot hard to see? Try pressing ‘V’ and all will be revealed.
^+1

There is a non-GS scanner that does that too…
No matter which way you try and paint it, the Scanner is obsolete. And considering I bought mine a few days before this update, I am really pissed off about it.

I don’t blame you. They did a ninja invasion loot nerf not too long ago (made a thread about it, don’t recall when it was), nerfing income from mysterious containers by a factor of about 5. Now it’s been nerfed again by a factor of 10. Used to be a million credits in five minutes, easily. Now? Not even worth it to move your finger to scan.
I think the whole “nerf” was due to bugs in the looting system that allowed really good loot way too often for the taste of the developpers. Some players have amassed great amount of credits in short amount of time and broke the economy the devs were trying to make for the players. Personally i knew a few great spots to raise credits really fast, namely Colonization Hub, Water Harvest, Research Center in Federation; they had lots of containers and the odds of valuable loot were rather high, especially for Colonization hub that is a super safe zone. Now we can still make quick buck from looting, faster than we can by playing pvp or pve (at least for those of us that aren’t legendary pilots with premium accounts), but nowhere as ridiculously easy as before.
