some premium are so pay to win

Dear designers/players,

 

The game info says the premium ships are not better even weaker then their free counterparts, i am here to argue it is not true,

 

For example Tier 2, Kallah compared to deimos 2 Kallah wins, Superkite compared to swift mk3, superkite wins. I could go on for a while but you get the gist.

 

Now the big corps have many players flying these “special” better versions of the free ships, which makes it even tougher to beat those already good cooperating players.

 

So i must say this game has a definite unbalance between free ships and the pay to win premium ships( mind you skill is still needed). Sure there is gonna be a designer /forum person who is gonna say

i am wrong but i did my math and checked it out and these examples above are just the tip of the iceberg.

I bet you didn’t factor in that premium ships show max synergy stats while credit ships show synergy 1.

The main advantage of the premium ships is that you don’t have to repair them.

actually, with the new ship tree and ship roles, some ships have become OP where before 8.0 they weren’t.

NO reason to Flame or blame here, but… care to explain what these major differences are? Ive flown both the premium and the free ones and I found little difference.

superkite has 2 more small missles, 2 heavy missles and 1 passive module slot more then the swift mk3 the rest is pretty similar. So yea the superkite is better.

Superkite is a steam DLC ship. Yes, the steam DLC ships are a tad better than even the premium ships, even ill admit that. BUT its only due to one passive slot, not so much overpowering to be honest.

well 2 minefields are kinda handy dont you think?

superkite is op. i want to mention other ships like the crus Q which don’t have a counterpart in the same rank. and yes, kalah is vastly superior as well. all steam dlc ships are superior to every f2p alternative, more missiles, more passives, a better ship bonus (poor kartana s… no bonus at all!).

but that is somewhat okay, you can still beat those ships if you outskill your enemy. there is one thing which isn’t ok at all: premium missiles/mines. having twice the load is just a joke. especially combined with ships like superkite.

Confirming Superkite is op and requesting that it be completely and utterly left alone.

Srsly, though…it isn’t to the point of being game breaking. It’s slightly faster than the Swift mk3 and has the extra passive, but really it comes down to pilot skill.

A “skill lvl 100” pilot will always do better in a Swift than a “skill lvl 80” pilot will in a Superkite.

My skill level is over 9000.

 (poor kartana s… no bonus at all!).

 

Attack Ship: Command

Command ships have +15% base speed and energy regeneration.

 

Katana type S  +10% Flight speed

 

Is does, they are just hidden. :slight_smile:

this is a general thing with comand ships right? at least the speed/regen isn’t outstanding imo… anyway strong is still superior imo.

I have personally found that the premium ships are great until you get to the final rank of the Tier, then they show their weaknesses compared the equivalent with full synergy. 

i want to mention other ships like the crus Q which don’t have a counterpart in the same rank.

 

Apart from a straight up increase in the basic stats, Crus Q has a second slot for two medium missiles, an additional passive slot, and a shield modifier, plus access to the rank 6 implant. But Neuron Zealot isn’t that bad for a rank 5 ship: it packs an extra large missile (i.e. potentially a third minefield), and it has a bonus 25% range for guard modules, which IMO is stellar. 1.6k radius pulsar, 1.7k radius inhibiter, and over 3k radius missile shield coverage: that’s still a force to be reckoned with, considering how slow guard frigates are.

T3:

 

Strong is obviously the best command ship heavy tactical bomber. Even after sweeping nerfs that stripped nuke carrying ability and took away aura buff and 3 tactical slots. Of course, it’s also the only heavy tactical bomber in the game.

Prometheus-2 is actually a pretty good command ship though.

 

Desert Eagle is obviously best gunship. Wolf-M is utter crap due to racial (dis?)advantanges in comparison to all imperial gunships.

 

Tacklers, Bear or parallax. No R9 tackler for credits.

Recon, same issue.

 

Other ship classes are on par or credit versions are clearly better. Cerberus-2 is hands down the best guardgineer for example.

And yea we need R9 of pretty much every type of ship, otherwise any premium ship in the tier which fills the role will clearly be better.

 

About Crus Q vs N.Zealot, they are pretty balanced imo, one is a better tank, the other is a better killer - experienced with both of them.

The Superkite is just insane. I’ve faced many of them on the field and only managed to kill a handful of them out of all my encounters with them. They are just so friggin hard to line up your weapons on…

 

The Crus-Q has its counterpart on the Federation, iirc, but, obviously, it’s not as effective as Jericho due to shield bonuses.

 

Kalah vs Deimos 2… I’m fenced on this one, tbh, they’re both VERY close scores. Of course, the Kalah would win from missile slots, but it’s still a close call, I’ve seen good pilots fly both ships (I know first-hand LagOps is an absolute demon on the Deimos 2), but it’s been a fairly balanced tussle.

 

DLC ship have always been far superior to even the Premium ships, so I’m not surprised. This is especially true in T3. Those Fighters are just insane. You can barely break the D-Eagle’s tank (this with Lasers or Thermal Railguns, ignoring the Kinetic hole most pilots immediately fix), the Bear is just… well, it’s just OP’d to all hell if you can fly it right. However, the Dragonfly just doesn’t fit in this. Mostly because you have the Katana-S with the speed bonus, the Strong with the Minefieldspam and the Prometheus 2 on Empire with the tank. The Dragonfly is easily killed, despite its bonuses.

 

Having 2 units of Premium missiles is what usually saves my sorry xxxx sometimes. But it is somewhat overpowered to see CovOps fly around with 4 nukes. I just use the large slots for Minefields (god, those things are handy) and some pilots will just go “Whaaaat!?” when I drop the second Minefield off my Dwarf 2.

 

 

There is some unbalance between the F2P elements and the Premium items (ships and modules alike), but that’s the devs’ plan to overtake the planet and I question none of it; I use my Standards to pay the Minefields (a total of 100-150/day) and purple loots. Those kinda wore me down cause they’re rare enough as they are and I’ve lost so many of them, already, I just quit doing that and stuck to the 10% chance ones. It’s just so frustrating, you have no idea…
