Some game modes end too soon for 1-2 mins que time?

As i’m still a new player, i barely reached rank 6 so i haven’t unlocked all game modes but this problem is making me want to quit playing.

So i spend 1 minute in the evening or 2 in the morning and i get domination, a mode that ends so quickly i barely have time to have any fun. Yeah when players are completely equally skilled, it might last longer but most of the times one team dominates from start to finish and back to hangar for another 1-2 mins of que.

The only mode i like the duration of so far is team death match.

Basically my problem is either make matches longer or ques shorter. They can’t make more people play obviously but at least give domination or beacon hunt more points to decap, i dunno.

Edit: Forgot to mention the mode where if your captain dies there are no more respawns. That mode is so unbalanced and random. Most of the time one team loses their captain in the first 3 minutes and then it’s all over.

I believe the longest PVP match in this game is 12 minutes.

I would highly recommend a higher speed ship. I know that seams simple and silly. Power Unit Conduit, is really good to help out with this in T2+.

You may be wanting to do more with what time you have allotted. Try the recons, with an Enhanced Scanner. Even if you followed the EMP carrier from a distance it would give your team a huge advantage. Warp in when someone else from your team moves to attack.

With that said, game balance is best in T3. Being rank 7-9 ships. Games will likely last longest there.

I’ll keep on grinding then and if at rank 7-9 things are still over this quickly i guess i’ll stop. Hope it will be better though, i see a lot of potential in this game.

The faster ships reach objectives faster but they also die faster so i might end up where i want but then have to wait to respawn. Lot of wait time, not enough fight time.

Ranks 1-6 are the training grounds. The beauty of this game starts at rank 8 where you have all 4 active modules available, and all ammo and missile types.

Also, from rank 7 your ships begin to be energy stable, which is also a nice improvement.

Sorry but… Not anymore :’(

Active modules

Autonomous Repair Station T3

Signature Masking T3

Are only available when reaching Rank 9.

Oh… yeah, I forgot about the new tiering system for the active modules.

Well, consider rank 9 when the true game starts then.

Not for all the ships.

Actually; the Full game for Interceptors start earlier than Fighter, and much more earlier than Frigates.

You just need to look at the shop to understand exactly what I mean. Even if it’s another discussion.

Well thanks for all the info guys. Guess i was too early to judge the game then.

But really, some modes might need to be moved up ranks because i just had a match where my captain died and we all followed soon after. So i spent more time in que than the actual battle.

Well, that also happens in high tiers. The captain selection is random between the highest rating players, but that doesn’t mean the captain is a good player OR has a good captain ship.

Anyway, in tier 2 being the captain is a pain, because recons can just warp in masse to you and kill you since you don’t have enough survival or defence modules.

I remember getting a lot of captain downed medals when I started in Tier 2 with a dwarf and mines.

op, let me ask you a question and i would like a honest answer:

Would you really like the game time extended per match, even if your side is being slaughtered and has absolute no chances?

Games where both sides are somewhat equally strong do take longer. Games, where one side just gets crushed, are over fast.

I prefer longer games too, yes. But i don’t like games, where you can just crush the opponent or you’re being crushed. Neither of both is really fun and it’s good those matches end relatively fast.

I would absolutely want a longer match even if my team is losing badly, like not being able to cap even one beacon. I wanna fight ships, not stare at a hangar as it counts the seconds i’m in que. I’m often just minding my own business, chasing some enemy ship when the battle is over with either “you won” or “you lost”. Both of those message translate to “ok, enough fun for now, go back to the end of the line buddy, que up for one minute again”.

The good thing about this game is that there can’t be any spawn camping because teams spawn in the same place. So if you stay at the enemy spawn, you’ll just have enemies teleport in front of you. The bad thing is you can dominate so much the beacons that the battle is over a few minutes(which wouldn’t be a problem if the que lasted only a few seconds but that’s not the case).

At least in team deathmatch you are forced to stay back because pushing into the enemy spawn will give them the advantage. You can’t push that much like you can in the capture beacon modes.

You will also have more game types once you reach T3.  Including Team Battles which you mentioned and I don’t think are in the early Tiers.

Team Battles are in T2

Combat Recons,  Beacon Hunt, Domination, Team Battles

Oh :fed014:  . MY bad. I know Team didn’t exist but why do I only remember 2 game types in the early tiers? Oh well. I guess I should visit from time to time. :00555:

Well, then maybe invasion mode and doing pvp in it would be better for you. There you have no que and no disruption until you are killed.

In almost all game modes, chasing a ship across the map isn’t the goal.

I personally always try to go for objectives and finish it as fast as possible. When you go for objectives, the game will finish sooner.

You could just give each team more points or whatsoever, but then we’ll be back to what we had before in Beta: endless farming of the bad teams 01515.png Equal matches are relatively rare in lower tiers.

Depends on the pilot of the opponents ship, sometimes it worth it to crush a player just to show him that you’re serious, if i die in a match, i never leave without my Gotcha!

The game is a lot of fun. I complain about open space, even that is fun. Just don’t like mining…

Feel free to send me a friend request. I could try to help show you a few general pointers in match. My in game name is of course davidgill. I normally play late on weekends, eastern time 10pm+.

well, that would be your personal goal then. Nothing wrong with that.

While you’re chasing some guy across the map, the others cap the beacon and the enemy wins the match. Maybe you would’ve made the difference if you’d have gone for the objective instead of revenge?

In the end, it’s all just a personal preference of play style. I was just trying to explain, that if people go for objectives and care less about dog fighting, the game will have to end sooner, because the enemy points are depleted. If the OP wants longer matches, there would have to be more points given to each team or the depletion made slower.

The invasion mode is when you run around in free roam killing aliens? Those are very unrewarding and the aliens aren’t fun to fight. Not getting any sync for killing them is just absurd.

Man i’m impressed at how helpful and friendly the community is in this game. Coming from World of Tanks, the difference is huge. I would totally take you on your offer, internet stranger, only the game can’t find you so i’m guess we’re on separate servers.

While it’s a matter of preference, i am sure with experience i will grow tired of just randomly chasing ships around and will be more interested in objectives. But then my problem of matches being too short will be even worse.

Just today i was in a rank 4-6 kill the captain mode thing. I went in with my rank 4 engi ship, which is supposed to be a team support ship, straight into the enemy captain and killed him, within 2 minutes at most. Game ended in around 4 minutes. My reward for going for the objective was another minute in que.

Played with a friend today and que time seems even worse. Even managed a nice 3 minutes and 40 second waiting, almost the time to finish some matches.

So you can see why i rather stay in a match, regardless of how bad it might go for my team. Staying in que is not playing the game. I can’t even do anything to my ships during the waiting, just alt tab out and do something else until it gets into battle.

yes, i get your point. As it’s never been a problem for me, but i do unterdstand that short matches can be bugging for some other people.

Well, maybe they will make matches longer.

Or maybe the new dreadnoughts and corp wars will be the thing you are looking for. (Stuff still to come)

I suggested invasion because it’s not just about pve and shooting aliens. There are red sectors without station pretection. In those, you can do pvp. (Hunting down other players Pirate style)

But for that, i would suggest ships auf higher tiers, which you have yet to achieve.

As you’ve already noticed, the community arround star conflict is a nice one. You’re helped most of the time if you have questions.

I would be glad, if you atleast stick around until you’re through t3. (where the game shows it’s most strengths)
