Slowing Field Missile Update

“But ECM is even more broken!” Isn’t justification. ECM needs a nerf, but that’s for another topic.

Why did you just ignore my suggestion? Was it not worthy of attention?

Why did you take it personally? It was on the last post of the last page, easy to miss. Chill.

The missile should reduce rotation and strafe speed for a certain amount of time for the target instead of making a slowing field. The missile should be invisible by sensors but can be taken down by AMS.

Yeah, that could be a nice compromise. Though the invisible to radar part is a bit… I don’t know. It feels a bit cheap.

It’s hard to convey tone of voice over the internet. Wasn’t taking it personally.

even if the missile is invisible, it should be affected by microlocators, AMS and flares (if you got the precognition to flare)

slowing fields however can be tactically useful; however usually, that doesnt happen much.

the problem with “learning” tacklers is, that they decloak wrong. I have seen Katana-AEs with bubbleguns; silent foxes which have slowing beams and decloak 300m from the target; etc.

i think this has to do with T2 vs. T3+; tacklers are way more aggressive in T2, and it does not compute for many to use it more and more as a ranged vessel; while fed tacklers like the parallax are really awesome in close combat, many aren’t.

You cannot repair people who use the ships in this way - after all in the hand of a good tackler, the silent fox is a gauss-beast, with its tackling range bonuses; or the katana-ae does wonders with its 6km sight range; a bonus which i miss from jerri tacklers in T5…

back to the missiles. i like the cloaked missile idea; it should have nice rotation too. since some ships have 2 special rockets, i would rather keep the slowing field as it is, who knows how the meta shifts, maybe they get more useful again. (sometimes they can be immensely useful, e.g. against heavy adaptive fleets)

I think devs dont consider this topic because slowing missile is fine nothing is wrong about it but tackler… Yeah that machine needs some nerfing, for example: a smaller hitbox.

I think slowing missle is right as it is. It’s a tactical weapon not meant for taking down/slowing solo targets, but for area denial. Those missles are supposed to be shot WITH NO TARGET LOCK, into a freaking wall, in a choke point in the enemy controlled area. It’s very good in maps where the 2 teams sort of bunch up behind an obstacle and shoot at each other. You put 1 slowing field missle near their choke point and you’re in business. You debuff all the enemy team. That is the purpose of those missles, not to shoot down enemy ships.

Same for the energy debuff.

They are doing their job.

Two different types of tackler missiles? No harm to it.

they are aware of the topic and threads but not all ideas are accepted
