The best solution would be to fix the rating system. The old skill rating system was better than the new one. Anyone can exploit the rating system by playing low tier for a while to bring the number down. I think the rating should be based on what you do, and not take into account the rank you play the most. When you see players known to be very strong with a skill rating of 4,000 you know something is wrong. I used the same exploit at times to get my rating to 3,000, and after about 10 battles I am back to 6500. Remove this one dynamic from rating and we might get better balance.

We need dedicated servers, when you can create your own rules! But we already do, in Custom Battle!

Well, rewards need to be put back again and the feature should be slightly reworked!

We should be able to join the server, we should be able to see game mode, settings, ping, etc. Would be much better, imo.

You don’t need to. It makes you look bad. I did not use any of those ships, only Command. I have those only, when I need to complete Ellydium’s assignments.

Yeah, I am not disagreeing in any way, just curious as to how it calculates all of it. I think the only true way ELO can work is if you have done about 5000 battles or more PvP only ofc.

ELO and a pilot rating are not related in any way.

the big flaw i see in this, is that ships are more unequal than ever. The gap got bigger and bigger. You would always have to use your most OP ship to fullfill the calculation. I personally don’t enjoy that tho. I like to fly niche ships and fit them up to the playstyle i want to have. I’m not a killer player fer sure, yet the game thinks I am. That makes every game I queue for, into a game where i would have to carry the whole team, but that doesn’t work anymore due to the unlimited variety of debuffs and me not sitting in my Tharga, but in a Specter Falcon, or Golden Eagle, or Loki or some random speed fitted guard.

I also see how this makes other players lifes hard.

One would have to start closing the gap between “white modules” and “purple mods”. To make newer players life easier, it can’t be that a Vet has like ~30% more damage just because he started to grind earlier. Ppl still will make purple mods, if the gap is only 5 %.

Also how is it weighted out if you group up with someone with lower ELO? Or is that a part of the MM problem due to pushing grouping together???

Your team apparently didn’t use those broken ship, and he states that as used ships.

His team used 4 taikins and a r14 dessie, but everything is okay.

People, including Koromac, have always complained about swarms, CovOp, Recons, ECMs, Guards, Engineers, Cruise Tacklers - you name it.

This is not a balance discussion this is a pointless whining that originated years ago and has nothing to do with the specific ship. I’d gladly talk balance of Taikin and Tharga and other things, but nobody is interested in discussion actual balance, people just go “of everything is xxxx, everything is uber OP” ← that is not how balancing works.

There was a patch note for this skill rating change when it happened 2 years ago. I protested it then. If someone can find it, you will see the rule for matchmaking hidden in the sea of patch notes.

Each tier has a sr cap. 

t1 1500

t2 3500

t3 7500

t4 8500

t5 10,000

 

Or something similar to this. Memory is foggy but I know this is about what was described.

I mostly complained about economy and destroyers and recently, about Ellydium ships.

You tested those ships. You got other testers. I was not one of them.

I doubt that you didn’t know how will this play out.

You all had a chance to make the ship more balanced, but the issue is probably bigger than just adding or changing some numbers.

Whole Ellydium aspect is only broken, when you compare it with standard ships! Standard ships are somewhat balanced, skill determines the victor.

But with Ellydium ships you don’t really need any skill. You just aim and press a button, homing projectile will make the rest for you.

Need to get a destroyer killed quickly? Not a problem. Just go in at high speed and release some green “bubbles”. The rest will be done for you.

Whole aspect of Ellydium is questionable, because OLD META that we had is not consistent or comparable to the NEW META. It’s incompatible!

It can be tuned, but it cannot be balanced!

I bet all the testers knew it and also said it. But that doesn’t mean the devs listen to the testers.

The numbers are higher but w/e they are completely useless for measuring anything
