Show us your Custom Paintjobs!

But we do tend to win the matches I roll it out, though.

Teamwork tends to have that effect.

Cool colors Snib. On the same line, who else feels like KatS has one of the best color patterns? So many combinations fit right on it.

It’s also that the ship has among the fewest non-paintable areas of all ships, so you can do much nicer paintjobs.

I hated it the first time I tried painting that ship. I hate all these random splotches / jungle camo skins. They really don’t fit the ships in space theme.

But KatS would be the only exception tho… probably because it reminds me of this:

It doesn’t remind me of that, but you’re right with splotches

What the shape of Katanas remind me of tho is Lamborghini Countach xD

If you want space camo than this would probably be it:

Or just black.

But it depends on the background nebulae…

I need to remake my colours. Back to my Imperial colours, that is.

closest to acceptable for camo skins is using varying mixes of greys that are available. it might look ok in-game. haven’t done it so not sure.

The skybox is a mix of black, blue, red and white-ish. So taking advantage of all that has to be done in an incredibly thorough manner so that you’re not spotted. However, there’s also the fact that the enemy can see your engine trail when afterburning, making that strategy useless…

Indeed. Well in game you’re always visible if on-grid due to the target box. However it could work with ‘motion idle’ LRFs at a certain distance and a good spot to hide most of the trail.

Also, dunno how much we’re bouncing around space camo as in game or IRL lol.

I meant aesthetically.

IRL you wouldn’t be able to hide. At all. Even with our current technology, we can keep a very close eye on most of Sol. Hiding a ship in space is next to impossible. Temperature alone allows you to find any ship.

@Kine: got it. In that case my 2 listed types would probably be the way to go for most SCon maps for me.

I’d probably go for beige or grey if i want to stick a LRF to an asteroid.

All this stealthy approach to color design is quite the opposition to people wanting pink ships, lumifiber and nyan exhausts for trolling xD

Hell if we get Lumi i want the option to turn it off like in PS2, this is a MUST! xd

Correct. Here’s where stealth needs thinking, designing and whatever else. So for now it’s correct, we don’t fly in space IRL properly either atm

But it is a probable thing in the future with tech advancement, even with sensor tech advancement. I see what you mean by heating as well, as for propulsion resulted from combustible fuel. Then there’s shape scanning, distorsion scanning and more, but who says you can’t put soil on your ship and stick to an asteroid? :stuck_out_tongue:

All in all this gets you to a lot of thinking and idea cooking.

Because asteroids are barren rocks of nothing?

Besides, we don’t have space travel. We have orbital travel. That’s it.

Because asteroids are barren rocks of nothing?

Roids are actually a big lump of something, be that barren rock or gold or tungsten or platinum etc, or a mix of stuff, could be even radioactive, magnetic etc, who knows what else?

Dunno if you’ve seen this:

It’s a good vid with details on asteroids and stuff in Sol, you’ll like it if in this sort of stuff (you’re playing a spaceship game damit! xP ).

That Templar with the blue and white colouration and the red accents reminds me of this. Not as nice as the Templar; that Templar’s blue is just schweet.

Didnt have a Camo like the Federation does, but you get the basic idea.
