Ship tree not fitting on screen

Here is the problem:

It happens all the time, and is due to my low screen resolution (1024x768) which I have to have to be able to play

DxDiag attached. I don’t know which logs to upload, since it is there permanently.

try moving the interface scale all the way to the left (doesnt affects performance). I can see both corners with 1152x864 resolution that way.

Thanks! Moving to the left does not fix it - i had it all to the left. Moving it into the middle (making it bigger) fixed it though.

It is already as far as possible to the left. Moving it to the middle only made it worse.

Sorry, but we can’t support screen resolution less then 1280*720 px

Why do you have an option for this in the game then?! And the previous ship tree was fine! Can I at least have the option to revert to that?? Because this is game-breaking, like I say: I cannog see the ship ranks or scroll down using the bar and half the ships are cut off

The game displayed all supported screen resolutions

I don’t understand

Mill try to lower the hud scale in game settings. Not the resolution, the scale!

Intresting the game supports the res but the devs don’t want the game to support these resolutions, or how do I have to understand your statements.

And everything is working fine with 1152*864, only 1024*768 has these issues

it doesn’t help; his pictures is already wiht smallest inteface scale

Yes I have smallest interface scale already. If it is “not supported” then why offer me this resolution? And why have I never had any problems before?

Please talk to your designers, they might have forgotten to resize the interface for this resolution or something.

I believe what Sculla means is that they develop all visuals for 1280x xxxx +, it may or may not be displayed properly on lower resolutions. Engine on the other had that runs the game, can support lower resolutions that is why we still have an option to select it, it is just the devs support for those is no longer there.

Strange, I have 1024x768 on my mac book and it fits the screen fine. I’m running in windowed (full-screen stretch) mode.

I’m not in windowed mode because that messed with my FPS. Also I have no option to increase my resolution as I’m already bordering on unplayable with this resolution. So I guess this is just a big “we don’t give a f*** and sort out your own problems - get a better computer” from the devs. “Let’s take something that work’s perfectly, mess it up while making it more fancy, and then not listen to feedback saying it is broken”

That’s just pure laziness

i have no option for full-screen mode on this craptop lol.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but maybe it is time to upgrade your system. I can’t play pvp on this laptop because the fps is just aweful, OS i can just about get away with. Thank god i’m only subjected to this laptop when away for work.

EDIT: but regardless of you fullscreen and me window’d, it fits on my screen, at your resolution, so it is possible, maybe a tweak in code by the devs.

Meh I know. I can still PVP, just certain maps are bad and I need to let my laptop cool down every now and then, but it’s playable. On the other hand, this is an unnecessary change to the UI that really annoys me, and the reaction from skula is not the one I expected…

i understand mil, but i personally would love a totally new interface, the one we had looks like from 90s. It hardly does its job well, game grew alot, alot of functions added, and so one, it is time to evolve the interface too. The new ship tree has plenty to work on, and i dont really like top to bottom direction still i find it more pleasant to look at

Yeah it’s definitely pretty and modern, with lots of cool shiny bits, but why can they not just scale the window with the resolution? So what if I can’t see the icons? At least I’d be able to see the ship ranks and names and not have to scroll down 16 ships with my mouse :confused:

But I guess I’m just a minority, so I’ll just shut up. Maybe a fix will come if I wait. Or an “unintentional fix” with some other modification. (I guess this is just a first draft of the tree, and they are waiting for feedback)

It must be possible as on the mac the ship tree has scaled to fit 1024x768, I even have space aorund the edges of it!! So it is possible, it’s just a matter of whether the devs want to fix it now.

EDIT: Looking in the config file I think I see why it is fitting my screen. I have these values:

    <r_3dheight val=“768” />
    <r_3dwidth val=“1024” />
    <r_height val=“800” />
    <r_width val=“1280” />

Not sure why it is like that as I have 1024x768 selected in the options. Maybe it’s doing some funky downscaling… Gonna try a few things out.

Ok, if I change the r_height and r_width values to 1024x768 then it sets my resolution to 1280x800. So maybe the UI is somehow tied into the desktop res on macs

Yep the UI is tied into the desktop res here, so when i set my desktop to 1024x640 (odd i know) then yeah it does not fit te screen, but I gain 3 fps!! Nearly at 20 now!!
