ship synergy change and weapon synergy

i will write a little, i hope you wont get bored :slight_smile:

 

ship synergy

basically, its good to have synergy. basically, its not too much rewarding to fly with a ship for a long time. once you’ll get full syn, you dont have any reason to continue, unless you get in some personal love with that ship :) 

i consider my self as a regular player; i get through the game without big troubles, now in T3 (r.8) harvesting syn, creds etc. but i believe that there should be a difference between ppl who buy creds, get through the ship tree without any relationship to any ship, followed by guys who fly a ship a little but in the moment new one is available, forgets the previous and guys, who loves to play one specific ship.

 

current syn levels does not affect the last group. i know that they are a minority, but rewarding pilots who belongs to one ship is good, i believe. 

 

leave current syn requirement for buying next ship, but give ships a LOT of more syn levels, I believe about 20 will be OK. 

who does not want to play with that ship once new one is available, no problem. you will have to unlock lvl 6-8 of syn and get a new one. but why not giving a real masters of particular ship possibility to gain more syn than - in fact - the same guy have on the ship he has no relation to it anyway?

 

i will use car analogy - if you use your car only sometimes and then get rid of it (syn lvl 5 ±), you will not be able to find out all the little nuances it have. if you use your car often (syn lvl 10 ±), you can drive it with lower gas consumption, know about near every little bug in it etc. this is in accordance with the current syn game system. 

 

but if you ride your car for a 10 years, you will know about every screw it have, every whimsy it have and so on. this should be lvl 20 syn.  

 

and after lvl 10 of synergy, you should gain some specialties for your ships instead of +hp and + shields. f.e. plasma webs should not only damage ship, but also slow it down by 5% for every syn lvl after 10. and at final lvl 20 you will be able to affect two ships before CD starts. (this is just an example, there has to be a lot of testing).

 

it will not force you to play that specific ship, but give player a reason to stay with one ship… if there will be more synergy, i will never leave my machete-s with hails :slight_smile:

 

one “bad” issue is, that it will make much more differences between new guys and vets. well, its about a big consideration to implement system like that.

 

weapon synergy

as well as ships have synergy, the same should be at the weapon system. the more I use specific weapon, the more accurate/more damaging/shooting at longer range i get. 

 

simply, yet functional. i suppose there is no big explanation needed, it should work at the same system as ship synergy (up to lvl 10 + dmg, range, - spread, after lvl 10 some specials).

Both are wrong, synergy needs to stop being a requirement, or atleast changed in a way it doesn’t feel like a grind.

 

And modifying anything but the current stats through synergy is a terrible idea. Since that makes it even harder to go to a new tier where people already are with high synergy.

Godamnit, how many threads about Synergy are people going to make? More Synergy levels with less xp per level? You know what that’ll solve? Nothing. If anything, it’ll make high-synergy ships a lot more overpowered than their rookie counterparts due to how the Synergy affects ship stats.

 

Less levels to get to the next ship I can agree with, however. I really don’t want to fly a ship for more than a handful of times before getting the next one, let alone maxing Synergy on them. My goal is to get to R15. I don’t want to dumb myself down to lower tiers just because I NEED to constantly fly those ships just so I can utterly abandon them afterwards.

Are you insane ? Synergy levels as is are pretty bad and grind-hellish.

 

I would’ve agreed with synergy on weapons, BUT isnt the loyalty system already covering for that ?  You grind and grind and grind … and grind and get Rank X*3 so you can get your mk3 weapon.

I think we have talked Synergy to death already. The Dev’s should know by now that the community at large feels it is an issue. If they don’t or they don’t want to address it, well that is a whole issue in itself. Just please please please resolve this soon. My patience while playing is growing ever more thin. I’m playing dumb ships I don’t have any desire to play just so I can branch out a bit, and my premium ships are garbage at the moment and sitting on a ton of reserve Synergy.

And before this, you also grind and grind and grind and grind. Your point being? I’m all up for lowering the exp, overall, but you’re suggesting increasing the Synergy levels and lowering the exp requirements to reach the next level. That just about levels out the exp requirements to reach the top levels.

I am suggesting no such thing ! Actually the opposite. One thing I dislike is grinding.

The grind in this game is about the only thing left keeping it from greatness.  (Well that an LRF’s are hopeless)

There is a way but the game has gone past that point I doubt they’d change the game design.

 

I’ve seen some really crafty tech trees and specialization reward/penalty mechanics cant remember what games for. But was during the heydays of browser based strategy games.

 

Usually it involves picking one thing will lock you out from others

 

You can stay jack of all trades by not unlocking specialized routes etc.

The issue I have with synergy is the transfer cost.

For now, the only way to transfer surplus synergy is with Gold Standards. 

 

Adding the option to use credits would be more fair to the entire community.

Hopefully if this option happens it would be at a reasonable price.

The amount to spend in gold to transfer at the moment is way to high for us premium players.

 

Adding Pay with credits option would be a big improvement in my opinion.
