Ship bonuses?

ive recently got into this game, so im a bit new. i noticed ships have bonus which is a nice feature. but some ships like the Raptor or Raptor-m have bonus for modules i cant find. where are they? and what are they?

Hold the shift key over the ship.

what does that accomplish?

Modules bonus are for the active modules you use on your ship if you mouse over the module it will tell you what group it is part off. Also the green numbers on the modules are the bonus your ship gives them.

thats not what im asking. im asking where do i find the modules that are under the category of engineering or protection. the ship i have says it gives bonuses for it but they dont show up in the fitting tabs

The only engineering module that exists (as far as I am aware) is the warpgate generator for the frigates and you can’t get it until the Tier 2 ships.  Protection modules include the pulsar (smartbomb), the anti-missile field, and the propulsion inhibitor, these are also restricted to T2 and above.  It MAY be possible to find T1 versions of them in the scenarios and in looting, but I’m afraid I can’t verify that.

Basically a ship’s role defines what modules it gets bonuses with.  For example, command fighters have the energy consumption on command modules reduced.  Hold shift over a ship to see the exact figures and effects.

SHIP ROLES AND RELEVANT MODULES

NOTE1: Modules marked “DROP” can only be achieved by looting and cannot be purchased at the store.  There are more of these than I’m aware of…

NOTE2: Yeah I know I haven’t done interceptors yet, leave me alone I suck with them…

Engineering frigates get a super raw deal, I’m sure you’ll agree

There were T1 versions of it, but were removed to simplify gameplay for T1 newcommers, so that bonus is a dud for the time being. They’ll tweak it later.
