Hello BCHyperion. I made a video of your Castor configuration. My implants are a little different.
There are some things in the beginning of the battle that you might laugh at. 1. my lookaround at launch where I’m the last in line 2. The LRF (my 2nd target) 3. my shield and hull while getting back home. Of course, this is not how things work in real skirmish.
I went with voltage regulator instead of pulse discharger.
I use ion emitters myself, that is what the don’t lock and horizon business is about but I’m glad that you’re taking what I told you and adapting it for your own playstyle. That is how it should be. For pve though, you may be better off with a shield booster instead of speed because it gives you hitpoints when used.
as a gunship, if you do not have speed you must have range. range makes it hard to run from your bullets, it gives you a safety zone that you can consider armor for those trying to engage you but for those who get close, you give the gift of a high turn speed dogfight. Gunships are the ultimate purity of fighter gameplay in a damage/hitpoints model. Your entire existence is geared around killing and surviving through brute force and guts, or in some cases speed. The only one who can resist you is the guardship, the rest can only run, hide, or hope you cannot hit them.
if you like the gunship, you may also like covops and guard ships… although with that said the aura is an absolute beast of its own. It’s a gunship that lacks crit and can share its overdrive with the squad.

Ok. I do want to have Ion Emitters and awesomeness converge on Empire gunships. I thought you were suggesting assault rails because of where you typed “crit ammo”. I have the best times with assault rails on fighters, but I also have the best times with fighters when they are Jerichos. I’ll keep trying with ion emitters. Those were the main weapons I opened up this thread with.
Ultimately, I want legitimate fighters for Skirmish. I can figure out how to utilize any fighter in pve. The Empire gunship thing in Skirmish has been a bane to me since the Phobos, but I haven’t given up on it. I even have a Lightbringer.
