Sector Conquest issue

On sec-con mode (2.12.2017.) 18:00  Solaris Wasteland sector

CRS held it with far more points than the attacking teams yet it was lost and the points were set to 0.

Can somebody inspect it for bugs, it doesn’t feel right to lose a sector over a weird glitch.

gamelog from that moment provided

There’s a new thing now where sector owners lose points at the end of each rotation. It used to be where it was only a 50% point reduction at the start of the queueing period but now it’s at the end too. Its really bizarre and doesn’t seem to work very well or predictably. FDEF held 9 sectors one day, but two were given to other corporations by this weird concept. FDEF has also held Service Shop for probably a week or so having far fewer points than the challengers, but still keeping the sector day after day. This method makes no sense, and I see it as something that overcomplicates what was once simple and should be removed/reverted so we can at least predict what will happen.

It is about capturing more sectors and more often instead of capturing and holding to as many as possible sectors. It is in general more rewarding to more corporations, especially since now you get rewards from a sector right from the capturing it, instead of old way withholding it for at least one more cycle

So basically its not a bug or anything, it’s more like capture and forget about it at the same time, move on to the next sector and pray to hold it for half a day or if you’re lucky, for a whole day even. Makes sense why its there so others have a chance but it kinda goes away way too fast…

If you cap a sector you are guaranteed one cycle ownership.

Try target sectors with less traffic if you want to hold them longer.

But yes it is about capturing rather then defending. It is a basic math since defending a sector needs way more man-hours effort than attacking.

Is there anything regarding some changes in dreads then in the upcoming patches?
