So just fit it with 3/3 shield/armour slots with Adaptives…
Oh, the Mammoth… Yeah, just fit Adaptives, anyway and keep top speed at all times.
I’m sorry i’ve no Mammoth,
But if you want a tank, adaptives how many as you can + Galvanized as many as you can. Engine some Vernier Engines, Capacitor depends on your weapon and if you’ve a CPU take proton wall to “tank” against ECMs.
Weapon: Whatever you want. (Heavy Blaster)
Active Mods: Nanocloud, Mass Shield, Energy Emitter, Shield/Hull Station or maybe a warp gate.
Energy Emitter is must have as tank, an energy unstable ship can’nt be tanky.
Serious advice: If you want to tank, take a Guard, not an engy.
This is what I have on my Mammoth. Typical Adaptive Shield Tank build. Enough energy regen to constantly AB and all the healing helps with tanking.
Almost everything golden Mk4 but Mk2 eclipse launcher lol.
Well Mammoth is my “Make buttloads of free syn” ship, so yeah. :V
Was the day’s x2 but still that’s the kind of synergy I make on a decent game.
In the order displayed (Engine to CPU)
Active Modules :
Just don’t put a Coil Mortar if you want to go in, it would be a shame if you go boom by yourself.

Tacklers/Guards(with MPI) must have fun with your Mammoth.
I always thought that the First Adaptives Tanking Rule was : PUT A GODAMN MULTIPURPOSE MODULE WITH THE FED R8 IMPLANTS
Serious advice: If you want to tank, take a Guard, not an engy.
Counter-Serious advice : Do not take a Guard if you are not ready to suffer and cry a lot in Mk1-Mk2 Stuff / Do not take a Guard if you expect to be able to fly in straight line and don’t be killed / Do not take a Guard if you have Ressources Management / Positionning / Field Analyzis Difficulties.

They do and it sucks. Swapping one of the stations with a Shield Booster is an option, but I just wanted to maximise heals. Dying incurs no cost credit-wise, so getting blown up by a tackler is rather inconsequential in the long run if the goal is to just make as much syn/credits as possible per game.

A living Engineer > All.
Regarding your fitting, you can swap the Repair Station (Hull) for A Shield Booster L.
But if I put a Multipurpose on, residente will burn me at the stake for the cardinal sin of putting a ‘personal module’ on an Engineer. :fed015:
There it is with the swapped module and with a 30 second cooldown, it should be available whenever a speed debuff come up.
But if I put a Multipurpose on, residente will burn me at the stake for the cardinal sin of putting a ‘personal module’ on an Engineer. :fed015:
If Residente have a problem with the fact that allowing your engineer to survive longer (aka providing Buff/Firepower for a longer time) is a problem because you added a Multipurpose Module, Send Him to me !

Putting a personal module on an Engineer over Energy Emitter is indeed a capital sin. I like Shield Booster on Engineers to get rid of Tacklers.
But don’t take it personal or anything.

You wot m8?
On topic
Mammoth is an offensive Engineer, you only need to look at passive bonuses + slot layout to realize that, using Eclipse Launcher or any weak weapon is a waste of resources because T-Rex/Osprey would do that job better. Specially considering the heat/cool time of Eclipse Launcher.
Mammoth has 3 CPU slots, it’s shouting you to put offensive modules and use it as a combat Engineer. Flying all ships the same way because they are X role from X faction is a mistake, Premium ships are often designed as an alternate way to fly that certain role, they are often more aggressive ships looking at their bonuses and slot layout (Spirit, Kevlar Ha, Scimitar, Patriarch, Karud, Excalibur, Mammoth, Polus, Leonina, Berserker…)
This is how I’d fly it
Adaptives will do the resistance tanking on both hull and shield so running raw hull is good to survive longer. Having all auras is a must imo. Considering Mammoth has not a reload time bonus like T-Rex or Octopus I don’t see the need of using both eggs. And if I had, I’d remove the shield aura instead of the energy one.
Why? because hull is the most important part even on fed engineers and using a Passive Armor because I don’t have Energy Emitter is counterproductive I can even be greedy and put a Pulse Discharger and still be energy efficient thanks to the Energy Emitter. Also any interceptor will love me for keeping their tiny capacitors at max.
Hum Residente?
If you have 3 CPU with Heavy Blaster, you go for Curved + 2 Horizons + Electronic Guidance. Not for crit, it’s not a AlphaStrike weapon.
It has 292 rounds per minute RoF, it’s almost the cap, and 1 out of 3 shots will be a crit. You know what weapon isn’t AlphaStrike weapon? Railguns, yet they’re incredibly powerful crit weapon. Meanwhile Gauss is a piece of xxxx and it’s an AlphaStrike weapon with xxxx crit stats. Gauss should be the one with the 20% base crit chance and not the Railguns. Something similar happens with Positron, almost no one uses it, and no wonder why, the amount of dmg you can do with Beam Cannon or Heavy Blaster is so good compared to Positron that out of a LRF no one would use it though.
With the crit build 1 out of 3 shots will do 1658 damage.
With curved + 2 horizons you will have same range and deal 1181 per shot.
With crits: 921+921+1658 = 3500 damage every 3 shots
With curved: 1181*3 = 3543
As you can see it’s basically the same. I’ve always loved crit builds so I always go with that by default. But you can go with the Curved Reflector build too. Unless I’m missing something both builds will do similar amounts of damage.
True DPS > RNG Based DPS huehuehue
Sure it’s RNG but 33% crit chance means 1 out of 3 hit should be a crit, sometimes you will make some crits in a row, sometimes nothing. But yeah, considering that with Crews you could change then Fed 6 Implant for Empire and get another 7% damage, going with pure damage would be really nice.
I have a Non-Optimized 4.6k DPS HB on a Guard with 3 CPU and 2 Capacitors.
It would be higher on the Mammoth with the +10% damages on the main weapon.
Take it aggressive, equip Curved, one Guidance and two Infrared, who needs Range? Better to erase everything with insane Close Range Dps!

On an adaptive tanked frigate? Uh…
