I haven’t played in forever, just invited someone (forgot to give my invite code also QQ). I found out that when running the exact same ship, loadout etc. his gun showed much higher DPS than mine, is this a feature for new players or against higher tier players or what?
For starters, you might be running a different set of implants. The R6 Imperial implant offers a straight up damage bonus.
But…Jericho R6 makes it more likely to actually hit moving targets. Sorry feds, your R6 sucks outside of crit builds.
Also, there’s the rank of the gun. Mk.1, Mk.II, military, Mk.III, and experimental. That’s probably why.

a)That is the sole purpose of this implant
b) R6 feds provides straight up more dmg in majority of cases than empire one
Also, some ships gives damage bonus to weapons

He’s a new player I’m lvl 9, both Jericho using the exact same ship variant and loadout. I got 1381 he was getting 1700+ DPS both with the Axe and its only weapon at MK II.
Maybe he was aiming better? If you’re a little off target, your damage goes down but you still get a hit.

To me at least, Empire increases damage, feds boost crit builds which you seem to favor based on previous posts, and Jericho favors actually hitting moving targets. Don’t take this the wrong way, but your view of crits ignores the majority of xxxx that don’t use crit builds.

i am absolutely not ignoring Jericho r6 implant, I am just saying that on “average” in pretty much most of the builds r6 Federation implant provides more dps boost then empire, its a simple math. As soon as your weapon have 20% crit chance R6 Feds =r6 Empire in dmg provided. Witch for the most part makes Empire r6 is least desirable/useful implant into a contrary to your statement regarding r6 Federation, nowhere on this forum i said that Jericho r6 is useless or I am not using it. The only thing i did is that i posted 2-3 builds that are effective dps builds in T3 that could help out newer players that most of the time in general look for DPS builds first and then start to widen they horizons to support builds as well.

Got a screenshot?
I’ll take one after next battle, it seems to be the same story for ALL our ships.
Here are the implants I have. No R-6 or damage modifier.
Here is my MK II turret (the one in question). It has the same damage per second when on the Axe.
I am pretty sure there is some kind of buff for newly made profiles, I don’t remember the duration though was it couple of games or was it “day” based
Axe-X S has a 10% weapon damage buf if I remember correctly.

The only ships that easily hit more than 20% crit are gunships and covert ops. On other ships, you’d have to have Empire R2 and infrared scanners. It also means R6 is a fairly well balanced implant set.
Back to topic… When you get to T2, there’s also the Valkyrie module that can boost your damage short term in battle.

Axe and Axe X S are the same regarding weaponry/damage, feel free to check. He just screenshotted the other one which makes no difference and certainly didn’t account for the damage discrepancy Like I said the issue is across ALL our ships when compared. It’s likely xKostyan is right, which is why I asked to figure out exactly what it is.
it might be due to his teammates usage of the Valkyrie system which gives 20% bonus damage for 10 sec
1381 x 1.2 = 1657 and you might be negatively buffed by a tackler (Target painter - 24 resistance) while he is shooting you which can explain your resistance going down
but possibly a positive buff for new pilots… i dunno
pls note valkyrie is only available in t2 so he may have had t2 teammates? where u in the same team?

I wasn’t aware teammate buffs followed him into the hangar.
