Ofc you can still drop bad built intis in t5 on a Tackler, but try going sec con against a decent squad using a Gauss and enjoy your uselessness.
The main difference is that in SQ, the tackler already has a role, and it is not to kill, it is to disable. For that, there are other weapons better than the gauss.

No. Now that Gauss have only 2 charge, Positron and Gauss are just a copy paste, without slow barrel and the spread that disapear when you charge your shot for Gauss.
And in “compensation” it have lower range + less damage + less crit damage + no accelerator coils available.
If you want to kill from far, there’s IE or Slow Beam for tackler that have a great range and much more damage.

The firepower of Gauss was his burst damage before the enemy realize he is aimed and start evasive maneuver. When they nerfed it from 3 charge to 2, they nerfed by a lot this burst.

they are 2 different weapons for 2 different ship types. might as well be comparing shrapnel cannon to eclipse launcher

The Singularity Cannon is just paying the price of being effective against interceptors, as well as all the others weapons which use to be effective against them.
The weapon was fine before this nerf (That appeard without any reason). And this weapon was supposed to be an “Anti-Frigates” weapon, and I’m a frigate player saying this nerf was ridiculous.

Ah so that’s why now we have the unstoppable interceptor swarm 2/3 of skirmish games. And why it’s possible for a guy in a CovOps to survive for 30 secs or more in an open space zone with no cover, spinning around 5 guys around him (in fighters/frigates most of them), even managing to kill 2 of them. True story from yesterday’s Sector Conquest
But let’s get back to the real issue. LRF OP nerf RT! BUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Ah so that’s why now we have the unstoppable interceptor swarm 2/3 of skirmish games.
That’s also why you can see so many guards sometime, players still think that to counter an Interswarmstor, you need to bring guards while now you can’t.
