Resistances

Not sure if anyone has brought this up or not, but I have yet to see it.

What is the ratio of Resistances Points (Hull and Shield) to actual reduced damage? Does it convert to a percentage based resistance or is it quite literal, where 50 pts of resistance is 50 less damage?

As far as i know it’s 1 resistance = 1% more that type of damage can be taken.

For example 1000 shields with 100EM resistance make your shield take 2000EM damage before they go down.

Then 200 resistence= 200% damage reduction?

Then 200 resistence= 200% damage reduction?

Yup. The formula works out like so:

EHP = HP * ( 1+ R/100), where EHP is true health, HP is your listed health and R is the resistant points.

This thread might be interesting for you.

Then 200 resistence= 200% damage reduction?

Well not really reduction. As the enemy will still deal the same amount of damage. Instead you can take 200% more damage.

No, he will deal less damage.

In ships with zero resistence i deal +/- 180 damage.

in ships with hight resistence i deal +/- 80 damage

Nope.

In ships with zero resistance i deal +/- 180  damage.

In ships with high resistance i deal +/- 180 damage, but the ship can take more damage.

1 EM resistance = 1% more EM damage can be taken.

1000 Shield + 100 EM resistance = 2000 EM Shield

1000 Shield + 200 EM resistance = 3000 EM Shield

Nope.

1 EM resistance = 1% more EM damage can be taken.

1000 Shield + 100 EM resistance = 2000 EM Shield

1000 Shield + 200 EM resistance = 3000 EM Shield

thats not true … try out any high dmg weapons, disint is perfect for this, it should technically deal 5,4k+ dmg then on hit and it doesnt.

resistance lowers the dmg you take by a %!

i am not sure of the % amount but if it allows you to take 1% more base dmg per 1 resist, at 100 resist it would be a 50% reduction and so on and so forth.

Well i’m online currently (same name in-game) and up for testing in practice mode. Can run either (high resist or disint).

yup did and we tested it out ^^

there is diffinately some dmg reduction going on

Indeed.

So 2924 dmg disint. (no main weapon) was hitting for 1399 on 109 thermal resists.

That is about 52% damage reduction.

So i was wrong on that one. In my defense it seems so few people actually use any resist because the low dmg hits were so rare that i just assumed it was something else :stuck_out_tongue:

100 resist = +100% effective hp = 50% damage reduction

200 resist = +200% effective hp = 67% damage reduction

300 resist = +300% effective hp = 75% damage reduction

…and so forth
