Not sure if anyone has brought this up or not, but I have yet to see it.
What is the ratio of Resistances Points (Hull and Shield) to actual reduced damage? Does it convert to a percentage based resistance or is it quite literal, where 50 pts of resistance is 50 less damage?
In ships with zero resistance i deal +/- 180 damage.
In ships with high resistance i deal +/- 180 damage, but the ship can take more damage.
1 EM resistance = 1% more EM damage can be taken.
1000 Shield + 100 EM resistance = 2000 EM Shield
1000 Shield + 200 EM resistance = 3000 EM Shield
thats not true … try out any high dmg weapons, disint is perfect for this, it should technically deal 5,4k+ dmg then on hit and it doesnt.
resistance lowers the dmg you take by a %!
i am not sure of the % amount but if it allows you to take 1% more base dmg per 1 resist, at 100 resist it would be a 50% reduction and so on and so forth.
So 2924 dmg disint. (no main weapon) was hitting for 1399 on 109 thermal resists.
That is about 52% damage reduction.
So i was wrong on that one. In my defense it seems so few people actually use any resist because the low dmg hits were so rare that i just assumed it was something else
