residente's (standard) Ships Build

I don’t mean to interrupt or put things off course here, but are not ions on a gunship better if you simply use + damage - range on your gun and then simply shoot at the enemy for 1.6 seconds, stop,(simply move your gun away from the target?)and then start again?

I tried all the guns on the Nukem. To me, the Assault Rails are just the best. Singularities felt odd, Ions are just godawful for me and the Gauss is meh… To me, Assault Rails gave me the most fun in the game in that ship.

But that is the result of your kind of gameplay.

I was talking about those two ships in general.

When you’ve a good mouse & zoom you can melt everything with the Ions very accurate.

The Gauss is just too weak for a gunship, that’s right.

And the best ship for singularity is still the Wolf-M, what is useless now cuz of R9 vs T4 reasons.

Like i said, it depends on the kind of gameplay.

If you suck at aiming you shouldn’t use lasers, another point is that everyone goes on thermal resistance and a smart interceptor might be hard to hit with them.

Assault Railguns are good because they are 1. Kinetic, 2. Projectile, 3. Rapid Fire.

  1. No one really goes for high kinetic resis, especially not average pilots.

  2. Makes you able to get kills very easy.

  3. Increases the chance to hit a fast moving target.

But still, it depends on what weapon you like most.

So the question is what is an Icicle skin?

You can overdrive and spam the Railgun without overheating the weapon for the whole duration.

 

From what I’ve seen, PvE Bots don’t care at all about the EM Scatter Field or other modules that disable lock-on/targeting, they’ll just keep shooting you anyway.

 

They do, Milfeulle posted a video about soloing all T5 PvEs with Archdragon and you can see that bots ignored him, only bots coming close in range would attack.

Just because that is how YOU play, it doesn’t mean it is a STANDARD for everyone else

Nukem - Bubbles (granted there are plenty Ion ESB nukems, but i suspect they just don’t have DEgle)

DEgle - Ions/ARails

Gauss - personal preferences.

Ok I’m a horrible Ion user and my Lightbringer is 2/10 synergy but this is how I’d do it.

3 Ions would have give me +1k on maximum range in the first build. Would indeed do better than some xxxx crit though.

Come on, you prefer 1 pulse discharger above 1 heatsink on an ion emitter? You always come at me with energy stability and you put smth with almost the same dps buff as the heatsink on that ship which makes an energy unstable ship more energy unstable.

Anyways, the dmg build

Put a Heatsink or Multiphase

drop 2 horizons and either 2x infrareds (for higher average dmg) or 2x coprocessors (for Aiming overcharge burst but lower average dmg)

Gunship with curved Ions is played similar to Bubble Guns, but with a little more range, it is practically a diver. Most of the time you will be fighting under 2000 range, and that is your goal for Optimal range.

 

Implants (just to have them mentioned, since you didn’t screed implants)

E2, F6, R11 (personal taste), E12, E13, E14, E15

 

Oh and in shield put utility rather than simple thermal resists, i.e. Cap volume, speed, adaptives, or even energy regeneration (but it is only works when shields are up, so when you are in the phase of gtfo from dive, and have no shields, kinda useless, especially considering that you gonna dive under overdrive that will keep your energy toped up)

I thought about Compact Shield Generator also for shield. Since I always use Cheetah II except for Engineers, Submatter Shield could be also pretty good.
