So T5 is endgame, right? Well how about we actually reflect that in the matchmaking?
I propose a two-fold change here:
In all tiers, 2-man squads do not need a matching squad. Instead, there should simply be a mechanic to ensure the number of pilots in squads is as equal as possible.
Examples:
A single two-man squad can get into a game with no squads opposing them. Two 2-man squads will be on opposite teams. Three 2-man squads will have one on one side and two on the other, etc.
If a 3 man and a 4 man squad face each other and a 2-man squad is also in game, they will go with the 3-man squad.
As above, except in Tier 5 3-man and 4-man squads don’t need an opposing squad either - the matchmaker just makes the squad count as even as possible.
The intent of this is twofold; first, to make Tier 5 the “hardcore” tier for veterans, and to reduce queue times for squads. This would put randoms at a disadvantage, but they have four other tiers to play in - by tier 5, they really should be looking to getting a Corp (if they don’t already) and moving to Sector Conquest, so this kind of matchmaking will help them get used to that!
That is called sector conquest. I will just suggest that they increase the SQ times so we can play SQ more.
Actually no, it’s how the matchmaking was at 1 time, when they were matching 2 mans vs no squad, 3 mans vs 2 mans etc. But the big mistake they did was that they didn’t check if there are any squads on the other side, when matching 2’s vs none. So that gave us 3 2 man squads on 1 side, 0 on the other.
Anyway that matchmaking was really good, if they tweaked it to count the squads on the other side aswell, to avoid having 3 2 mans on 1 side and 0 on the other.
SQ doesn’t have all modes though - it’s just capture the beacons. This would give you all modes.
Good point.

The only thing they changed was that now 2 men squads need another 2 men squad in front. 3-4 men squad MM was always the same as it is now (you need another 3-4 men squad in front)
I agree that they should come back at the 2 men squads = random solos but with a tool to match squads in both sides.
But anyway, as soon as people start filling the high tiers, this won’t be a problem. In fact in tier 2-3 is hardly a problem to find a game in any squad size.
The main problem is in high tiers and big squad size for the lack of players. 2 men squads in T5 are common.
well if you notice more players move to T3 , and T4 , soon there will be more players who wants to upgrade their ships on T4, I am one of them. I have to face full purple rank15 ships with my green rank 10 ship, can I ask if this is normal for game what is the meaning of tiers?

Rank 10 ships are in a bit of a disadvantage, but rank 11 ships are in par with rank 15 ships with the same level of synergy. You already have all module and passive slots, and only lacks a few implants that, even if they give you a small advantage, it is easily overcomed.
Concerning the modules, yes, it is a pain to face full purple ships in green ones, they have around 7% more stats than you, but we all have done that. Before I had my full purple ships in T5 (not all of them of course, just the one I use in SQ) I had to fight with my green ones. And I succeeded.
Remember, you role is not to carry the game against rank 15 ships with your rank 10 one. Your team also have rank 15 ships. Let them do the heavy work and support them until you have upgraded all your modules.
SQ is end game. I wish T5/T4 was more like T3. A place to try new builds…
We can’t forget how dead T4 use to be.
It would be nice to have a more frequent SQ time.
In regard to squads.
NASA/WPK squads are more skilled than any of the other players.
Were I developing I would fix the squad MM issue by matching by player rating rather than ship count. For squads only…
A 4 pilot NASA/WPK squad could take on a 6 pilot unsquaded team. You guys would get the squad matches you want. We would not be ground into a pulp so much. Would likely still lose, but the games would be closer.
The issue lies in that when other players queue into T3, they will almost always lose vs WPK/NASA. You have to ask yourself, what happens to the group of people who lose time and time again? They stop playing because they already know the outcome.
Bottom line is more skilled squads are better than ship strength.
Yes, separate t4/t5 please! Most of my t5s are maxed now and need to work on maxing my t4s without getting curb stomped by falcons and wakizashies. :fed013:
It would help those new guys in t3 progress as well. Instead of trying t4 and not understanding why they can’t stun/slow someone after their shields are gone, or why an adaptive guard with pulsar can cloak, they would be able to have a fair fight without the implant, tier advantages.
