They will never set hard cap on that, that is the problem, now every player with some spare credits, vouchera can setup a grey falcon, hold 2 buttons together and go in a death spin cycle with it…

I’m not saying that they should remove cruise, I’m just saying that the should add more strafe & rotation nerfs on ships that are using it. A lot of T5 games turned into insane rotating intys, hit and run bubble tacklers & camping LRF, dessy fest… Maybe a nerf on cruise + a buff on some tackler modules would change that.

but what about removing the base speed boost the module gives, and instead making sure only the afterburn speed gets the number it has atm. like i mentioned?

it would reduce quite a lot of speed, and add a higher speedup time to gain adaptive speeds, and basicly nerf the two ships which can abuse cruise atm. without much drawback mainly, change little for the jerri and empi fighters trying to use cruise to reposition, and also keep sane cruise builds okay.

to make the nerf complete, decceleration from ab speed to max speed could be increased / fixed using cruise modules, disallowing gliding adaptive attacks by tampering with the acceleration speed; if it’s true, that acceleration speed is actually also our decceleration speed.

I hope for a compromise situation, where the feature is not removed entirely but made to be not so easy to abuse.

For players with high ping or bad internet, this feature is a godsend for high speed interceptors with adaptive fittings. Surviving high speed wobble dogfighting is hell.

I agree with removing it entirely but only because i rarely use the function, limited automovement seems fairer but then who is to say what a fair limit would be.

Btw i’s not only the caltrop (that is the only ecm really whorth that “style” iirc), I didn’t named any ship just to not encourage such “style”.

 

Atm rails can hit them, but this is from a gunship with projectile speed implant, ship bonus for even more projectile speed and a very high rof. You hit but not consistanly enough to do anything other than delay a beacon cap or make them aware of you. Like so many weapons listed for dealing with them it just lacks and a whole team chipping away at them just doesnt cut it. All the inties have an answer to get out of tough situations like that. They dont need a button that allows them to get into and stay in that situation almost indefinatly.

That could work, that could really work. It would reduce that “drive by” killing in T5 a lot, and still keep cruise usfull

pls cmon ppl rotation is dont have a cap, dont have a counter, apart from ECM (which is a general troublemaker) dont even had a disadvantage module in battlefield . It is needs to eat a nerf (which is terrible idea) or max cap (to stop op builds) or kinda inhibitor that reduce it up to atleast %50 (i prefer this one). Ofc that buttons are problem but even without them u still can be untouchable with an jeri ECM (can be seen in very skilled pilots and in t5 there is a lot of them)

So far even destroyers (most unskill ships) have counters like coil spammers , anomalies or even one single covops (check AdamWest’s tutorial) but an untouchable rotation monster as long as he take care his positionings he can dance all over the map without even caring the ship class more than their hitpoints.

 

When i take a Tackler i watchout for ECM’s, when i take a Cov ops i watchout for tacklers, when i take a LRF i watchout for covops but when i take an ECM with crazy rotation i dont have to be so much troubled by ship roles than the players who plays them …

Someone should make a suggestion about a buff to the gravibeamer, that makes it able to also slow down rotation.

There are other ships, aside Caltrop, that can do this kind of a crazy rotation build. All SP inty ships + a few standard ones. And before only a few players would do this, now more & more players do da death spin thingie. It’s not normal. And this is not the only anoying build in T5, this is the worst one, but u have that cruise, bubble 15 sec cameleon cooldown Jag that is also abused. With R15 implants there is a little chance of killing it coz of speed he has from cruise eng. So, imo, they need modules/or nerfs for these rotation inty builds (for the record I mostley fly tacklers & covert ops), and a nerf on cruise maybe in a way g4borg said it so cruise becomes a positioning tool not a hit & run kill tool.

Dude u can’t hit those builds, atleast not long enough for buffs to take affect. In addition to this R15 implants can debuff a ship after losing shields, or cloack it…

locking camera to the ship is the only reasonable solution so far

 

the entire debate is freakin similar to planetside 2 ‘to use lock on missiles or not to use lock on missiles’ - in the end, lock on users never learnt how to fly in planetside 2 and kept getting murdered by those who invested in flying properly rather than resorting to cheap tactics - the same applies here with those relying on the ‘i win’ buttons, they’ll never be ‘top’ - imagine all those guys using this familiar line: ‘1337 tab-targeting skillz’

Other solution would be to restrict shooting positions of turrets. So a ship can’t keep shooting in one place while in a spin mode.

I’d really love to fly my COs once again instead of the damned cruise tacklers, but shrapnel is dead, spin fest is ‘da new thing!’, survival on them has been reduced multiple times and so on… Many people say COs received a single nerf in the last year (orion), but it was the most impacted class actually from all the other gimmicks.

 

Remember when people used ‘manual dodging’ as a dogfighting technique? That’s when skill made a difference between the good and bad players flying ceptors, but then they nerfed nearly everything on them so people had to come with new ways to mitigate damage, hence the 2-button-bullsh*t which everyone can press, and then call you a cheater if you hit them ‘because they were in godmode and nobody can kill godmode’.

 

So yea, if this is what they want, then i’ll abuse the fck out of it.
